  It is sad that lately anyone one who passes away is mourned at the fore court of the state house. This place should be reserved for heads of state or leaders of parliament. We are now moving from "we blocked 7 roads to the funeral was held at the fore court".
  Additionally this practice is at variance with the preaching of government, priests and some chiefs admonishing people to be modest in funeral expenses. No wonder people prefer funerals to educating their children.

  I take exception to your offensive comment, Omanba. Joe Issachar was no ordinary person. He contributed far more than some presidents who were harmful to society. A president who presided over the looting of state lands and bungalow, or the selling of Ghana Telecom or Ghana Airways etc was not acting in the interest of Ghana! Yet you think such parasites deserve state.

  Secondly, I wanted to make a bigger point. It is time to emphasize modest funerals and spend money on our children and not waste it on extravagant funerals.
