Considering the speed at which "petty offenders" can be brought to book, and jailed, it is evident that there are different strokes for different folks in our country. Some in "elite" positions can distribute money illegally and even dip their hands into government accounts without fear of accountability or consequence. Yet a less influential citizen may acquire food illegally and is brought to justice speedily by the system and sentenced..it is done and dusted!
The elite who have been exposed of major corruption utilize delay tactics through expensive court cases with the assistance of the legal fraternity at the expense of the tax payer. This allows them to be on the gravy payroll. Why is the government not doing anything to plug these leakages?
Our government can dish out cash in an under-handed manner, yet our nurses, doctors, and teachers are begging to be paid their legitimate salaries! Our schools are ill-equipped, and the struggle to feed our students continues! What is going on, Ghana?
