It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

Now I'm not gapingly vouching for Nana Addo but why gather all the energy to pounce on the neck of this man once again since he declared his intention to mount the political platform? People with visionary ideas are needlessly attacked left, right and centre this part of the world!

Well, it could be part of the rules of the political game when opponents dig the archives of life to "do you down". But who benefits? No one.

Does that make Nana an accomplice before or after the fact? This calls for question whether this man Adarkwa or whatever he calls himself is indeed a lawyer or masqurading as one. Does this further mean that Nana must be dragged to the police station for questioning anytime an alleged supporter invokes his name to commit a crime e.g stealing some cassava at any place in Ghana? This lawyer must wake up. Or has he got some solid and concrete facts which link Nana to the case in hand? May God protect us from such charlatan lawyers otherwise we may all get up one day and being dragged to the police station to answer questions on cases we may know nothing anout.

As much as I prefer Alan over Akufo-Addo, I do not see any direct link between the hooliganism of his supporters and him, as the primary instigator of their behavior.

Many Ghanaians arrogate to themselves overzealous loyalty to Political candidates, and do crazy stuff in their names, without the Politicians' consent.

My only beef with Akufo-Addo following violent upheavals by his supporters, like this case refers to, is his utter silence. His failure to publicly condemn such criminal acts, or appeal to his supporters to refrain from such behavior they portray in his name, has the potential to summarily confer a possible complicity on him.

Whilst I believe he could not order his supporters to behave so abysmally, his passivity in response irks me; it does not depict him as a peaceful person at all. Rather, it seems to suggest that he may not directly harm any opponent of his, but if some others would do that for him, he is fine with it.

That attitude, to me, should not be countenanced or borne by someone who wants to be the leader of the whole Nation. No Presidential candidate must condone violence against any section of our Society, no matter how strongly opposing that group may be to the candidacy of that person.

However, unless the Hajia mentioned Akufo-Addo as the one who ordered them to perpetrate the attack, it would be unfair to invite him or arrest him to answer any questions on that incident. The fact that the Lady went to his house to forewarn him of a possible invitation to the Police on the case does not necessarily implicate Akufo-Addo. The Lady probably only went to seek his help to get her out of the mess she found herself in because she displayed that behavior for his cause.
