  Yes 1.4 million ounces of gold, but at what cost to our environment? Is the amount of gold mined (not produced) worth the damage to our lands, forests and water bodies?

  Bauxite (from the Western Region) --- 333,458 mt
  Manganese (from the Western Region) --- 596,572 mt

  Value today:
  Gold --- $1400 per oz
  Diamond --- from $1500 to $150,000 per carat (Market price)
  Bauxite --- $150 per mt
  Manganese --- $450 per tonne
  
  Akyem districts make up more than half of the population of the Eastern Region.
  
  Even though today diamond production from Akyem has stopped temporarily Akyem districts must be given their fair share of projects. Discrimination against Akyems districts has been going on for at least the last forty years.

  is VALCO PRODUCING ALUMINUM OR HAS ECG & VOLTA ELECTRIC PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS??? GOLD AND ALUMINUM MUST BE PROCESSED IN GHANA AND LET THE BARS & BARSTOCK AND SHEET BE EXPORTED
