  The attitude of getting rich over one night is the very cancer that has never been toughed. It is the way the whole nation goes hence our inability to control our mineral deposits. This is a serious sickness in the blood of Ghanaians right from the topmost. How come that we allow foreigners to have a share in our mines. Why can't the gov't buy machines for such industries and drive the foreigners out of the business? WE NEED TO THINK AGAIN

  AngloGold Ashanti has done hardly anything to develop Obuasi and its environs. They should be ashamed of themselves!

  It is said that while some districts pay high electricity tariffs others pay next to nothing. It is also said that within the same neighborhoods in the Accra/Tema Megapolis tariffs vary from house to house.

  I agree with Wiase. At least Ghanaian gold winners from galamsey are using their monies to build new and better houses and communities than what Anglogold has provided to the inhabitants for the past decades they have been mining gold at Obuasi. Their so-called corporate social responsibility activities are grossly inadequate considering the huge profits Anglogold has made over the past decades.
  The government should rethink about new approaches towards the operations of these multinational companies in the extractive industry.
