Modern teachers are not like the "Old Ones" whose reward was in heaven. Is there discipline in the government itself. Amissah should not pretend he does not know what is going on.

veep shouldn't get us annoyed what do he expect us to use for our rent, transportation etc when he is not paying what he own us. The government is owning me one year and I don't know of other people

Please have we in ghana ever heard of absenttism in the banking sector?Let's not pretend there's no job satisfaction in the service.Please about 90% of teachers today are in the profession not because of self fulfilment but a survival strategy.The env't in which the teacher operates is not attractive, salary level not good have also lost much of its value recently.Almost all teachers with good certificate wants to leave the service and i happened to be one of them.Teachers espercially male teachers are a laughing stock in ghana.So please don't worry the already frustrated teacher, can rather increase the attrition rate in the service!

My verdict on attitudes is that it's a character package that permeates
every aspect of one's life. Just check to see if the absentee teachers have any better life compared to their colleagues.

A teacher has eight hours a day to be in school, after school, prepare the next day's lessons which most of them don't.
Seven days a week the teacher works
eight hours a day for five days and still
he or she needs some of these hours for
personal excuse to stay out of duty.
Let us listen to the Veep to improve our way of serving our own future leaders as teachers. Even some of you don't write up to date lesson notes and that must be checked by inspectors.

There are several of them still waiting desolately in some remote areas to receive their salaries, twelve months after being employed by that useless entity called GES! How do you want them to survive? You have no moral right to talk about teacher-absenteeism, if your lazy Minister of education lacks what it takes to address the issues confronting teachers!
