The ghana educational service and education ministry should send emissars to Ontario, Canada to look at the policies of the Ontario federation of teachers. U must see the ground rules on attendance, sick days allowed per year, vacations times allowed, to to bag overtime etc. If the teachers fail to.follow. U hit them where it hurts. Their wallet. More teacher truancy will lead to suspension and ultimately dismissal from the school. Ur report will be sent to ges.

Ghana's education system, is the most hilarious joke. Look at this man saying "10%" is not even enough, and that absenteeism is inexcusable. This stupid government treat teachers as if they(teachers) are robots. Hardly will you hear anything about teacher motivation, yet we always expect the best from the teacher, who works under poor conditions, with insignificant salary. Are teachers robots to always be in school, without even taking a day off to seek medication?

I know some pupil teachers who can even teach more than some professional teachers. My experience with the GES as far as the classroom is concerned shows that: some professional teachers dont do their work at all. Some asume that once they are professional together with the fact that they will go to school and sign their names in the attendance book thats all. And that the government can not sact them so they do what they want. So the GES shoould come again with the decition of sacking pupil teachers. These (the pupil teachrs) over the years have help a lot of students through the educational ladder. Ghana currently has about 30000 pupil teachers who do their work very well. In conclusion I support the idear that the pupil teachers should not be sacked but they should be remained so that those who have not yet upgraded themselves professionally should do so. What I think GES can do is to stop recruiting pupil from now onwards so that come 5 years time there would not be pupil teachers again in the classrooms. But for now I think it is not the right decision the government GES should take. "A word to the wise is enough".
