In the just-ended FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup tournament in Canada, reports indicate that the attendance was 14,834. Out this this figure, Ghanaian numbered just about 800. Yet they grouped together and cheered so loudly amid drumming and dancing that, they easily overshadowed the over 14,000 Canadian fans during their opening game against Canada.

Ghana govt should purchase tickets in block and distribute to Ghanaians in Toronto. Of course, some will even buy their own tickets as well to boost the number. 3,000 tickets @ $20 will cost Ghana govt only $60,000 and that's it. Probably, the Ghana consular office in Toronto can even raise this amount.

1. Sponsored fans who want to come to Canada to support the team must foot 1/4th or 1/2 of the overall amount needed for their upkeep. Nothing should be free just like that!
2. Provide free tickets for Ghanaian fans for pickup at the main gate of the stadium. If you show up with ids that shows your Ghanaian name, or wearing Ghanaian jersey or paraphernalia. You get a free ticket.
This will.cut down on the unnecessary monies we throw away. Then go to imf for loans? Idiots!

Mr Edmund Agbeko in Toronto, Canada should also not put a blanket freeze on visas for Ghanaians wishing to go to Brazil on their own. He should rather direct his suggestion to the Government and not to the Canadian embassy. I am sure his anger at the willful dissipation of state resources by those crooks made him say no visas for people who will want to go on their own to cheer our ladies. Anyone wishing to go to Canada on their own should NOTY be denied a visa.

However, it is nonsense to suggest that Canada is justified to deny visas for well meaning Ghanaians with the resources to come or send their wards just for the tournament. Canada cannot and should not be allowed to unilaterally decide to deprive legitimate Ghanaian citizens visas. If Canada is doing this, FIFA should take note and penalize the Canadians for abusing their powers and denying visas for Africans. Will Canada deny visas the same way for supporters from european countries? This is becoming racial profiling and outright racism. White people will not be treated that way and Ghanaians should also not accept this nonsense. But then of course you have a government that is only interested in stealing not building national institutions to safeguard the rights of ordinary Ghanaians. A weak government breeds such abuses from european governments.

I can assure you 99.99% of Ghanaians (including you yourself and your whole family) would readily accept Canada invitation to relocate to Canada if given the chance! Canada has to protect its interest and the interest of its citizens. Canada would be more than happy to be dismissed from FIFA tournaments than to allow massive exodus of economically hungry refugee seekers into its territory.
