  A man had a terrible speech impediment and was having trouble finding a job. One day he went to an employer and applied.The employer was reluctant."But, I don't think you'd be a good salesman with the way you talk," said the employer."Pweashe... give me a chanshe," the man begged.So the man was hired to sell toothbrushes. He tried and tried, but was unable to sell any toothbrushes.The man went to his boss, having done a terrible job. The boss wanted to fire the man, but the man insisted he be given another chance."I got sze besht idear," he told his boss.The next week, when the man reported to his boss, the man had sold 10,000 toothbrushes."Wow!" his boss exclaimed. "How did you do it?""Well, it wash shimple, shee. I gone to the airport, shet up a table, and shet up shum chips and dips. The people would come, and taste the chips and dips, and would say they taste like shit."Then I would shay, it IS shit, you wanna buy a toothbrush?"

  Due to a corrupt environment one can make more money with relatively low risk in the public sector, than in setting up and running ones own business (private sector). That is why most people prefer to just tow the line of a political party till they get the chance to come to power and make money (ala Sammy Awuku). Do you then expect more people to set up businesses ? Hell No !

  To much bureaucracy, red tape in ghana is also to blame. Bribe, bribery, bribery is suffocating and discouraging too many would be entrepreneurs from creating startups know Ghana

  You build training facilities, which the 10M YES fund can do, before urging people to be self employed. Mahama should know that education is different from training. Majority of our current university graduates are educated but not trained and so asking them to be self employed is to tell them to put their capitals down the drain because they lack the critical skills to be self employed.
