I was the (C)Thief Accountant at the NSS from 2006 to 2010, whereupon I was forced to resign because I stood up for my share of the returns of the ghost names money. The farm project was only a ploy to steal money and we did make money proper. Yes within the short period that I was transferred from Bolga, I made billions from the NSS: I have a mansion in Adenta, a four square compound house at madina, an estate in Takoradi, 2 houses in Bolga. I had no problems resigning in 2010 because I had already set up a micro finance company in Bolgatanga. We stole the money through insertion of ghost names, use of the borehole drilling machine at the NSS plus other lucrative schemes. Now I drive around in a powerful V8. Hahaha catch me and Kuagbenu if you can!But just dissolve the Board to save some us from going to prison... pls i beg.

The man was a respectable, God fearing leader that had a complete program for all aspects our national development. Unfortunately, the communist Young Pioneers implanted by Nkrumah in our mist, did not allow Ghanaians to benefit from his knowledge and the good work he had started for the sake of this country and its people. They hijacked and impeded our development until the year 2001.

Although Acheampong was one of the communists who carried out the dirty work of overthrowing Prof. Busia for them, they later tried to disown him in order to hide their involvement in the destruction of this country and its economy when "Kalebuleh" and corruption exploded like wild fire and never stopped. He was finally killed by another communist who seized power and unleashed a Cuban-style dictatorship on Ghanaians. However, he also contributed to the corruption through party affiliations to cling to power.

First, i believe now is the time for all Ghanaians led by the government to say enough is enough. To this i suggest a forum based on the Senchi Accord or formula. This must involve all civic society groups, especially Christian Council of Ghana, TUC from the labour front, Police, Military, Ministry of Education, Traditional Councils & House of Chiefs, NCCE and all those who matter. A policy must be formulated on how best to fight corruption from our homes, churhes, schools and including work places.

There must first be a moral crusade led by the Churches in collaboration with Ministry of Education to include moral & ethics in the school curriculum to fight this disease. Churches and religious leaders must also focus on the true teaching of Christ and must stop concentrating too much on wealth.

In a country such as Barbados in the Carribean, it's very difficult for people to give or accept bribe because they believe it's morally wrong. Anyone found to be corrupt is usually scorned and looked down on just as hiv/aids victims are treated.

It is said Charity begins at home. So fellow Ghanaians, let's stop putting pressure on our working children, friends, colleagues, husbands & wives, brothers & sisters that that they must make quick money at all cost because Kofi and Ama have made it so must you. Ghanaians must stop mocking God that our Country is a Christian nation when they act contary to the teachings of the holy book only to go to church and sing halleluah, halleluah in praise of ill gotten wealth and assests.

External SOLICITOR Fingered

It has been uncovered that the state-owned National LOTTERIES Authority (NLA), which is supposed to be a money machine for the national kitty, is riddled with financial malfeasance, insider-trading, conflict of interest and abuse of office.

The National Lottery Authority was established by an Act of Parliament to regulate the LOTTERIESsector of Ghana and equally run LOTTERIES in Ghana. However, it appears some members of the board as well as a number of senior management members prefer to pursue their parochial interest and rake in ill-gotten wealth.

Overwhelming evidence available to The National Forum has revealed that Mr. Kojo Graham, a former board member of the NLA who is currently the external SOLICITOR and Chairman of the Tender entity committee of the Authority used and abused his position to circumvent the procurement act in the award of a sole sourced contract between the NLA and LOTS SERVICES.

Mr. Graham, a seasoned lawyer who is supposed to know better is a director of LOTS Services, the company which provides and manages the NLA platform and the servicing of its equipment, raising serious issues of conflict of interest.

It has emerged that the LOTS SERVICES contract with the NLA was procured at a time Mr. Graham was a board member, an external solicitor and the chairman of the Tender entity committee.

There is also evidence to show how he compromised himself and circumvented the procurement laws to avoid laid down procedures, which would have adequately addressed integrity issues of the company.

In several email conversations between Mr. Graham and his business partners in February 2012, he revealed how the LOTS-NLA deal was deliberately structured to avoid due process.

Notwithstanding all these, he continues to serve as the external solicitor of the NLA, raking in money from the national lotteries for his company and partners As a sequel to the contract, Mr. Graham is said to have provided privileged insider information to his business partners, Deji Enwezor- a Nigerian representing STPL and one Sujit– an Indian representing SKILROCK. This act of connivance with foreigners to win the contract is not only a slap in the face of the Public Procurement Act (ACT 624) and Ghanaians but also a stab in the back of the Head of state who gave him the opportunity to serve the nation.

The paper is convinced after painstaking investigations that, the forensic investigation done by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) was only limited to one area of the rot, the manipulation of the IT system of the NLA.

The investigations did not cover acts of conflict of interest and fraudulent misrepresentation by a board member with the connivance of some other officers of the Authority and blessed by the then Board chairman, Mr. Kojo Andah. This collusion led to the NLA entering into a contract with LOTS Services, a service provider of the NLA after the abrogation of the NLA-Simnet contract. Mr. Graham is said to have personally assisted his partners in crime to acquire VAT and TAX IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS for onward transfer to the Ghana INVESTMENT Promotion Center (GIPC) in order for the repatriation of their profits according to the GIPC Act of 1994.

This paper believes that fresh investigations must commence into the conduct of Mr. Kojo Graham, Madam Afumwaa Bruce- a senior staff member of the NLA and David Lamptey, a former Director in charge of Legal issues and now Director in-charge of Commercial issues at NLA including Mr Kojo Andah former Director-General of the NLA and the current Director- General of the NLA Brigadier General Martin Ahiaglo who knowing all of these acts of corruption against the very institution he heads, has refused to even investigate or refer the matter to the right authorities.

It would be recalled that the media in 2013, published a number of stories bordering on allegations of fraud and various acts of corruption within the NLA.

This led to the dissolution of the NLA board by the president and a forensic audit conducted by EOCO.

In the process, some innocent junior staff of the NLA were sacrificed for the sins of some board members.

“If president John Mahama is truly committed to fighting corruption as he easily makes Ghanaians believe at the least opportunity, he has the chance now to show in deed and not in rhetoric and save Mother Ghana from these vampires who have chosen to fix their long hungry teeth to the purse of our Nation and suck it dry the nation dry,” an anti-corruption crusader stated.

Kweku thanks so much for the views expressed about how the nation should fight against corruption.It is a problem which is so damaging to the economy that the government,the opposition and all the other political parties must be involved in fighting it.Apart from putting in place systems which will deter and expose corruption officials caught indulging in it must be severely punished to serve as a deterrent to others.It is sad that so many of the Auditor General's report exposing corruption by public officers are lying down with no attention paid to them.At the moment public officers are not afraid to steal monies belonging to the state with impunity because they know that nothing will happen to them.Public officers caught involved in corruption must be prosecuted,given harsh long term prison sentences and their assets confiscated.

When Kweku Baako decides to commend Mahama, it is because he had observed and noticed what needed to be done by a leader, which in my understanding had not been done by some who been there or been in government before. He sees Mahama as a wise mam with a good mission when we allow patience to work.

Fighting corruption is not a thing of just talking about it because it is a great force with the spirit of destroying communities and nations all over the world.

It is not a thing that ought to be left in the hands of one person called a president/leader to destroy it, but it is a force that that ought to be confronted by the whole nation consciously with commopn simple understanding that corruption is our common enemy that stands against our vision of building a good nation for ourselves and our future generation.

In honest terms, with our patriotic stand and rational move against corruption without any tribal and political bigotry we can destroy it in our nation at a reasonable percentage of 80, which can further strenghen us to lay a foundation of awareness among the citizens.

In other words, with good foundation laid Corruption would almost vanish just like one sees in some of the developed economies. This means even though one can trace some symptoms of corruption in such nations yet there is no foundation for it to strive/grow in such communities.

One can see that in ours it has grown because primarily there is no collective concern to destroy the foundation that corruption depend on to spread. I sincerely give credit to Mahama and all those who genuinely supported him for this great effort taken which in our own eyes had yielded dividend vividly.

I would also thank the president for the debt commission set up which had exposed also informed us nationally of the wicked minds of many who paraded behind politics and did and still do a lot of evil against our dear nation.

May God reward all those whose wickedness is based on selfishness and greediness and with that did evil against Ghana according to their works.

Kwaku your are wrong, changing government is a key factor of minimizing corruption and also helping the nation`s development.Even though, corruption do exist in every society,good leadership and presidency do not condone corruption. Most governments in advance countries sometimes fall due to corruption but after, bounce back with new leadership. mahama obviously knew the out of control corruption in his government but don`t have the charisma and self esteem to fight against it.Time is overdue for Ghana in putting the nations road map on perspective.The government shouldn`t allow one bad apple to destroy a whole case/box of apple. Time is overdue in bringing those corrupters into justice. Prosecute and jail them and you will see the difference.But mahama will never ever bring any one in his administration into justice.

According to a new International Monetary Fund (IMF) report, Ghana’s public debt would hit a little over 70% of the country’s total economic output by 2015, prompting concerns from the Bretton-Woods institution.

The IMF maintains when a country’s debt exceeds 60% of its total economic value, economic stability becomes threatened.

The report, ‘Fiscal Monitor’ outlines how governments around the world spend and mobilise revenue.

Joy News’ George Wiafe in Washington reports, the document also reveals the IMF has some serious concerns with some economic data government has put out as part of a process to secure assistance from the Washington-based lender.

“According to the report, Ghana’s public debt has even crossed the 60% mark level which will make it difficult for government to service these debts on time”, George reports.

The IMF also revealed that its assessment of the country’s actual public debt was not consistent with figures put out by the Bank of Ghana.

Bank of Ghana puts the figure at 55% --representing 58 billion Ghana cedis.

The IMF says its figures are a little over 60%.

Analysts say IMF’s revelation is an indication that the country’s debt has reached levels that can be likened to that of a Highly Indebted Poor Country (HIPC).

Deputy Head of Fiscal Affairs at the IMF, Sanjay Gupta says the development calls for tough measures by government to address the situation.

Some of these measures, according to experts, could bring untold hardships to Ghanaians.

Following Ghana’s request for IMF bailout, initial discussions between the government and the IMF have started. Negotiators from Ghana are currently in Washington to continue the process.

Kwaku Baako, I beg to disagree with you on this one. Yes, all previous governments have had issues with corruption but corruption is not a problem to the current government and president. In fact the president and his appointees seem to be enjoying the complaints about corrupt government appointees. The person who appoints the thieves sees nothing wrong with their stealing and therefore does nothing to reprimand them to stop them. Ghana cannot move forward with this type corruption and corrupt government appointees. Change of government might help it must come through the ballot box though.
