It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

What l have seen from Prez Mills time to Prez Mahama time, l will find it difficult to understand why any well meaning Ghanaian will vote for Prez Mahama, with all these SUBA, SADA, Woyome, ISOFOTON, Corruption galore and the economic mess that has taken us back to IMF etc.

It is all because we Ghanaians are probably too cheap for the politicians so even when it is very obvious that they are not performing they still have hope that they will win next elections. Somewhere else with this crass incompetence Prez Mahama would have resigned prematurely or not even dream of a second term.

All what I need is for him to fix the economy so that I will get uninterrupted electricity, be able to pay my kids school fees, drive on smooth instead of pot holed roads; be able to drive from Accra to Kumasi instead of going by air, stop armed robbery, stop the thievery (although he Mahama is aware but is doing nothing about it), retrieve the over $50 million from Woyome and other, and many too numerous to mention here. After serving as Vice President, Acting President and President for 6 uninterrupted years and supervising the deterioration of the economy to its worst performance in more than a decade, sorely disappointed ghanaians have been expecting Mahama to come up with fresh ideas to revamp the economy. This is the president who has been undeservedly compared to former President Nkrumah by some of his adulators, sycophants and riffraff hangers on. Nkrumah built silos to store our raw cocoa beans to turn them into finished products for export. The conventional wisdom is finished products earn more revenue than exporting the raw product. Nkrumah was overthrown before this could become a reality. Nearly 50 years after his overthrow the man acclaimed by his admirers as Nkrumah's successor is dreaming of becoming a cocoa farmer in 2020 because the price of cocoa is on a steady rise. I can't believe he still can't get his act together. Ghanaians don't have the stomach for such level of cluelessness and can't afford to wait 6 long years to see the back of him. What a president we have in John Dramani Mahama.

It is as if the numerous mis-steps, corruption scandals and gross incompetence of his administration that have unleashed untold hardships on Ghanaians are inconsequential and ghanaians with short memories will re-elect him for another term of office. Maybe Mr Mahama knows something that the average Ghanaian does not know. Is it not preposterous and insanity for the beleaguered president to be talking about a second term after a disastrous first term? He is obviously thinking aloud but his mindless effusions give credence to the allegations of electoral fraud.
