Ghana and other third world countries have been having some "donkey fun and very bad habit" by constantly borrowing and foolishly MISUSING those funds. How could Ghana, a Mickey Flick Banana Republic with a population of only 24 million, but richly endowed with marketable resources such as; Cocoa, Gold, Diamonds, Bauxite, Iron ore, Timber, etc., etc., BUT HUGELY INCOMPETENT TO MANAGE THE REVENUES FROM THESE PRODUCTS, but instead mismanaging these revenues, as well as the “up to your eyeballs loans.”

How many times haven't we read that this loan and that loan from this country or that country and from the Breton Woods is for Road construction, Schools, Hospitals and Clinics, Communications, Agriculture, Fisheries, Infrastructure, Infant Industries, etc., etc., but NOTHING HAPPENS, while the money is also gone, Negro?

So, if the IMF & the World Bank CAN’T supervise where the loans they give to Ghana and others go or how the loans are spent, then I suggest that they STOP this continuous foolishness and the never ending mismanagement of funds, which never benefits the country, but rather puts the country in debt for future generations. WHEN WILL THIS CALLOUSNESS AND STUPIDITY END??

The NDC being in power now for six years has again failed to improve the economy simply because their fundamentals are wrong. In fact, the country is about to be declared HIPC and they don't have what it takes to salvage the sinking economy.

All the leaders including Mr. Sam Jona and former president him self in stole Ghana's natural resources with their European counterpart. Today Ghanaians did not learn and vote NDC into power or should I say that it steals the election and look at what they have done with our economy. In this shortest time Ghana is selling its last natural resources to the IMF through the IMF Bailout programme and again NDC is going to handle it.

Ghana and other third world countries have been having some "donkey fun and very bad habit" by constantly borrowing and foolishly MISUSING those funds. How could Ghana, a Mickey Flick Banana Republic with a population of only 24 million, but richly endowed with marketable resources such as; Cocoa, Gold, Diamonds, Bauxite, Iron ore, Timber, etc., etc., BUT HUGELY INCOMPETENT TO MANAGE THE REVENUES FROM THESE PRODUCTS, but instead mismanaging these revenues, as well as the “up to your eyeballs loans.”

How many times haven't we read that this loan and that loan from this country or that country and from the Breton Woods is for Road construction, Schools, Hospitals and Clinics, Communications, Agriculture, Fisheries, Infrastructure, Infant Industries, etc., etc., but NOTHING HAPPENS, while the money is also gone, Negro?

So, if the IMF & the World Bank CAN’T supervise where the loans they give to Ghana and others go or how the loans are spent, then I suggest that they STOP this continuous foolishness and the never ending mismanagement of funds, which never benefits the country, but rather puts the country in debt for future generations. So my question is simply this. What have all these economic advisors to the government been doing? As advisors to the government, the president dependS on the expertise of these so-called expects to proactively envisage problems down the tube, solve them before they materialize. The president does not want any reactive approach to solving our problems. All these expects do is to collect undeserving paychecks amidst the big title 'economic advisor'. The economy is plugged by 'waste' in the form of corruption, mismanagement and thievery. We have made it a habit of living with the problem amidst this high and unacceptable debt to GDP ratio. How can a country progress and develop under this economic strain. The rank on file are young, incompetent and radically corrupt. They are just financial self-centered bent on amassing the most as much as possible. This failure is not the doing of the president alone.

This is a very serious embarrassment and I'm deeply scandalized as a Ghanaian.
But who should I blame- the President. His baby ministers will come down heavily to bite people who want to express their views about the economy with their sharp teeth, and President Mahama does not rebuke them. It appears he supports their actions. Now look at the emmbarrassment you and your government have caused the nation.
Why can't the president step aside for a more competent person to take over? I'm not a prophet of doom, but if we don't take care, the youth will embark on a very dangerous revolution that will wipe away all those whose hands are tainted with corruption. Will the youth sit down and watch men and women put in positions of trust plunder and rape the nation, no! We're not far from the Arab Spring revolution that started in Tunisia.

How could a country failed to collect taxes from numerous businesses just because of the fear to loose votes. Every business MUST be registered and taxes collected. Penalties should go none payment of taxes. That's why money fail to circulate back into the govt treasury for salaries to be paid. If that happens 2 things will occur: i. Printing more money, which lead to inflation and 2. borrowing of foreign money to run the economy. Apart from government salaried workers which form a small fraction of the country, most of the businesses: small and big are not registered and hence no tAX COLLECTION. So many political activists are on government payrolls and are none functionable and not paying taxes. Every year international governments literally send some monies through their embassies to support the national budget. These monies are literally shared among government officials and no formal recognition is made to the public. Ghana also literally receives several scholarship from foreign governments and institutions, which are offered to girlfriends and family members of politicians who travel overseas on those programs, but end up no studying and collected all the monies. There are no tax incentives to encourage international businesses to invest in infrastructure in the country. Ghanaian politicians are very short-sighted. They don't expand their horizon beyond their nose. they are analytical about the real issues confronting the countries. They have only red text books, passed their exams to get degrees and believing that the theories from the classroom are the God sent answers to the public crisis. Stop that foolishness and face the facts and deal with them in a common sense fashion. You government a people for fear of loosing votes and pleasing activists. Ghana has a lot of competent people both within and outside. We spend a lot of money to bring into the country soccer players to represent the country. This a very good concept. Why can't you use the same concept to reach out to good knowledgeable Ghanaians overseas into the country to blend with in-country citizens to offer their skills and knowledge to develop the country. The world has risen above partisan issues!

None of them honestly admits the cause and eventually the marriage breaks down and if children are involved they suffer. Let us put it this way. The Bank of Ghana was put under pressure to cater to the whims of government and hide information. Just think of Mugabe and Zimbabwe when their currency hit rock bottom. The Zimbabwe bank ended up doing what Mugabe wanted and they got into big rouble. Is that easy for you to understand. Mills was handed a golden platter to build on and make things good. Mahama took over and now we are back in the middle to late 1970's having to start all over again just because of this bunch of pigs with snouts in the trough and ostriches hiding their head in the sand.

Let them deduce solutions to clear Ghana's debt and put Ghana on course for recovery and total independence. With our Cocoa, minerals and oil, we should be able to repay any outstanding debts. The IMF has to be the policemen in overseeing all contracts awarded in view of clearing out our national debt, but then again, do these IMF guys really want us to be out of debt?

I personally do not honestly trust these IMF guys. Their knowledge of economics and finance cannot surpass that of our contingent (Terkper and Kwetey). Bawumia is just fronting for political gains and need not be included in any of the debates.

That statement purported to suggest that we could start having some hope. Well, let this President start his cocoa farming with all his wealth. Let him build interest in farming until he or his staff start plunging into galamsey holes.
Does this President not have pride? Deal with corruption in your country and stop all this borrowing business. Stop this nonsense democracy; do you not see the nonsense of thieving directors lining up to sue the government for questioning their corrupt conduct?

Ghanaians should seek for change and a U-turn from party politics. This is because Politicians are serial thieves who should not be allowed to joke with the future of the nation.
In fact Ghana as it stands is about the most useless nation in the world. If there is no U turn from party politics, citizens will soon have no choice than to kill others to maintain their livelihood or commit suicide.

For you, do you think it is a good thing or bad thing for the increasing appetite for Ghana and other West African countries that are going onto the bond market, because in the case of Ghana, debt-to-GDP ratio is inching toward the 50 percent mark. Do you think it is good or we should take a second look at that?Second, there are concerns about some of the prescriptions that the Bretton Woods Institutions are putting across on how to go about the fiscal consolidation. They think for instance that Ghana has argued that we need more time to work on it, while the World Bank and the IMF are pushing for a faster push. Do you think that we need to take our time with this prescription, because the one size fits all appears not to be working?Mr. Gupta: First of all, the debt-to-GDP ratio in Ghana is 71 percent, not 60 percent so it is much higher than you mentioned. I think you raise the question whether countries should be borrowing abroad or not. I think it is a very good idea to be able to borrow the money and use it effectively for development and building infrastructure. What we have noticed, not necessarily in the case of Ghana but in many other countries, is that increases in that borrowing has not necessarily been accompanied by higher spending on infrastructure on the capital side, but has been accompanied by increase in spending on the current side. So, that has an impact on the ability to repay this debt. So, that is one of the aspects of borrowing from abroad. Essentially one of the points which the Fiscal Monitor makes is that there is a need to improve the fiscal governance related to external borrowing in a number of countries, which means there should be allocation of resources, there should be efficient use of resources that are borrowed, so that the countries are able to grow, which is the purpose of that borrowing and repay those funds.

Not so with such Ghanaian "toilet papers" as the Daily Guide which comically pass off as newspapers. Tragically "little minds" treat such gutter journalistic articles as the truth, spew garbage here on Ghanaweb and expose their partisanship, stupidity, and ignorance.
Is "Daily Guide" prepared to stand by this article of national and international importance as
