Ghana does not need to go to the IMF. There are countries in Africa and elsewhere with much fewer resources than Ghana that are managing without the Bretton Woods institutions. If we managed our affairs judiciously, we should not be in our current position.
It is just the sheer incompetence and dishonesty of Mahama and his appointees that have brought us to this messy position.

It may be interest for you to know that when President Obama took the reins of US government in '09 when President Bush left office with imbalance economy, President Obama assembled a team of experts from all the political divide to take the bull by the horn and tame it. Mr. Obama's actions has resulted the present economic situation of the US where average employment figures for the past 3-years had been more than 100,000 monthly. Also Dow Jones and other Stock indexes are performing good with unemployment rate less than 7 percent now. Republican Presidential candidate - Mr. Romney did not render any assistance to Mr. Obama to solve the US Economy. Nana and Alan are not under any obligation to come with their version or suggestions in the current dealings between the Government and IMF.
Unlike your paymaster, Mr.Mahama thought it wise to assemble inexperience and wannabes around himself because he thought when he brings in expert from all walks of life into his then young administration, he may be exposed of his previous deals hatched under late Mills administration. Also his weakness as CEO of the country would be exposed as it is clear that, your paymaster has performed woefully despite his enviable resume (CV).
