The economy is hitting workers hard and many have run-out of ideas.

It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

Nkrumah was the first to introduced debt into this nation by borrowing massively to finance his whims and caprices. It was actually a misfortune that we had such a person as president immediately after the independence.

Ghana had a reserve of about 1bln dollars when he took over the reins of government in this country. Do you know what the value of one billion dollars was in the early fifties? Again, after 2years of Nkrumah's rule, cocoa prices at the world market rocketed and increased fourfold, but he did not do anything to reserve part of the money for a rainy day as the Whitman did for Ghana. What did he do with all that money? He went on a spending spree both in Ghana and around the world talking big. And when the cocoa prices close to the end of his rein dropped, he was quick to point accusing fingers at the West blaming them for trying to sabotage the economy of Ghana and overthrow his government. Finally, before Kwame Nkrumah left this country, he had uncured and burdened our young nation with another one billion dollar debt. Nkrumah met Ghana rich, and left it nearly bankrupt.

Some of you are so obsessed with Kwame Nkrumah that you don't even take time to accept his mistakes which are some of the causes of Ghana's woes now.
Blind arguments are part of Ghana's problems too for if we will be truthful to ourselves,what has socialism contributed to the development of this world?
All we get and hear from you followers of Nkrumah are insults and misleading praises of his achievements but if he had forged good relationship with the west instead of pursuing socialist and communist ideas,Ghana would have by far been better off than it is now.
After independence,the population of the country was less than five million and if we had a leader who loved the country and focused on developments other than embarking on an impossible task of uniting Africa,think of what would have been achieved.
How come that you never mention the recklessness of your hero like handing to CPP activists free estates at Nyaniba,Kanda Tema,our money wasted on the formation of Ghana,,Guinea,Mali solidarity etc etc?
A good leader can not be associated with someone who claim to fight for independence from colonial rule only to oppress his own people for not agreeing with him.
You may be alright with his reign of terror but but some of us don't so stop raining insults for we know where Ghana would have been/like had he been allowed to rule with his communist ideas.
Freedom of expression which you're enjoying now was unheard of during his reign so it's about time you wake up and accept some facts about authoritarian regimes.

Again,in this World we have Leaders and Followers. Not any human-being can be the leader.Because it takes Selflessness,Planning,Compassion for the ordinary man in the Street or concerns about the majority weak,poor and destitute, Foresight,etc etc to get your people to the promise land. Therefore,whether we like it or not,morons are the many amongst us.Those with the right ideas and ideals are only about 25 percent out of 100 everywhere in the world.
Now,the problem in Ghana is that,the moronic majority of 75 percent would not listen to give the few most Sensible born- leaders among us,the chance to Lead.So,we have a situation where almost everyone thinks he can be the leader ; because,he has been to School,forgetting that Common Sense approach,selflessness and compassion for the people are not founded in Books anywhere in the world,but in the DNA of the person.Therefore,a moron is a moron with a PhD or without it.

Nkrumah's books are all freely available online in pdf. Just Google every title eg, I speak of freedom in pdf.

In Ghana's case, ceremonial activities continued to be exercised by a Governor on behalf of the Queen of England until the country became a Republic in 1960. I hope the Professor will take note.

The reason i don't subscribe to this is, it's lack of knowledge and know how which don't make Africa progress or rich.Yes we boast of having all these resources but do we know how to turn them to real wealth?
That's the question we must find answer to instead of beating about in the bush.
We must all admit that we need to stop blaming others and rather seek to put our brains to good use to turn the fortunes of Ghana(Africa) and it's people.
How long can we continue to find excuses for our failures while others keep leaving us behind?
