How can you imagine things like that? There will be unemployment, fiscal control on infrastructure, you become a beggar because funds can only be used on social protection issues and not capital projects, you cannot borrow the money you are used to and there will be minimal public and civil sector spending. I really find it difficult to understand you. You are too naïve with everything

Even on the personal basis, no financial institution would consolidate or work with you,if your credit is bad, without first asking you for some other conditions -- usually to reduce your debt to income ratio, to ensure that the loan is re-paid. How does he fix "the short term bottlenecks" without hurting Ghanaians?

  The so-called professor needs to go back to school again. These types of socialists' arguments could deceive Ghanaians in the 50s and 60s but they cannot do so now. Nkrumah was the first leader to introduced debt into this nation by borrowing massively and unnecessary to finance his whims and caprices. It was a misfortune that we had such a person as president immediately after the independence. He didn't lay a good sustainable economic foundation for this country at all considering the amount of money that was at his disposal.
  
  Ghana had about 1bln dollars in its reserve when Nkrumah took over the reins of government in this country. Can you imagine the value of one billion dollars in the early fifties? Again, after 2years of Nkrumah's rule, cocoa prices at the world market rocketed and increased fourfold. But contrary to any sound economic planning, he did not reserve even a fraction of the windfall for a rainy day, as the Whitman had done when they had only one fourth of what Nkrumah got from cocoa every year. So, what did he do with all that money from the high cocoa prices and the reserve he inherited that took years to build for our future economic stability?
  
  He went on a spending spree both in Ghana and abroad, throwing his weight about and talking big. So when the cocoa prices fell close to the end of his rule, he was quick to point accusing fingers at the West, blaming them for manipulating cocoa prices to sabotage the economy of Ghana and overthrow his government. Finally, after squandering all the money mainly on useless prestigious projects, his mad rush for industrialization projects, which did not have firm foundation in the country to sustain them, he also burdened the young nation with another billion dollars debt before he was forced out of the country.
  
  The truth is that, Kwame Nkrumah met a rich country with stable economy, and left it nearly bankrupt as a result of gross mismanagement and NDC is following suit.

  With a debt-to-GDP ratio that has gone way past the threshold for debt service sustainability ie 60%, with a plethora of experts, saying it comes with significant hardships, it comes across as the Mahama NDC gov't doesn't appreciate, the nature of the problem Ghana finds itself, a self-inflicted catastrophic economic collapse or meltdown, attributive solely, to massive looting and thievery of his own gov't in a policy of create, loot and share.
  The fate of the whole gamut of pupil teachers who have been made to kiss the canvas, is an example of some of the measures that are coming from the IMF program, that has become necessary as a result of plain thievery and looting by the Mahama NDC gov't.
  The recent increases in utility tariffs topping about 7-8% for electricity alone, even when the service is not available, with it's concomitant additional hardships on the citizenry, arising as a result of an across board increment in prices of goods and services, is another example of the Mahama/Amissah Arthur NDC gov't's pilfering and pillaging of the national purse with impunity and reckless abandon.
  Those are just but two examples which are biting hard from the wanton thievery and looting of the national kitty, and for John Mahama to suggest that, the bailout program would not hurt, smacks of gross insensitivity and a huge lack of the appreciation of the very issues, which has led to this very debacle.
  It is a mockery of governance, and the mandate of the citizenry, and these need to be spoken to, at the ballot box in 2016, to sound a loud and resounding note to those whom we have entrusted the reigns of governance that, looting and thievery, incompetence and avarice, would have profound far-reaching consequences.
