The so-called professor that tried to embellish Nkrumah's economic record needs to go back to school again. These types of socialists' arguments could deceive Ghanaians in the 50s and 60s but they cannot do so now. Nkrumah was the first leader to introduce unsustainable debt into this nation by borrowing massively and unnecessarily to finance his whims and caprices. It was a misfortune that we had such a person as president immediately after the independence. He didn't lay a realistic economic foundation for sustainable development in this country considering the amount of money that was at his disposal in those days.

Ghana had about 1bln dollars in reserve when Nkrumah took over the reins of government in this country. Can you imagine the value of one billion dollars in the early fifties? Again, after 2years of Nkrumah's rule, cocoa prices at the world market rocketed and increased fourfold. But contrary to any sound economic planning, he did not reserve any fraction of the windfall for a rainy day, as the Whiteman had done with only one fourth of the revenue he got from cocoa. So, what did he do with all that money from the astronomical cocoa prices and the big reserve he inherited that took years to build for our future financial stability and sustainable development?

Kwame Nkrumah went on a spending spree both in Ghana and around the world, throwing his weight about and talking big. So when the cocoa prices fell close to the end of his rule, he was quick to point accusing fingers at the West, blaming them for manipulating cocoa prices to sabotage the economy of Ghana and overthrow his government. Finally, after misusing all the money mainly on useless prestigious projects, communist agricultural projects, and whimsical mad-rush industrialization projects, he also burdened the young nation with another billion dollars' debt before he was forced out of this country.

The truth is that, Kwame Nkrumah met a rich country with stable economy and left it nearly bankrupt as a result of gross mismanagement. Unfortunately, NDC is following suit with corruption and mimanagement and our next stop is HIPC.

If you decide to get involved, make sure your payments are guaranteed else WanZam will be knocking. Germany, a country that does not get much sunshine are generating solar power beyond your wildest dreams more than nuclear and turbine. They had a serious scare after the Japanese Fukushima disaster and even now, the water and food is still contaminated but Japan wants to restart 2 of the nuclear reactors? Germany referred Ghana 650megawatts for 650 million bucks for solar. Who knows what NDC did with the idea or even tried to negotiate a concession? Japan has already completed the solar solution for Noguchi Institute. You would think that Korle Bu by now would have had its own emergency fuel supply for at least 3 months, its own emergency generators, its own solar supply, its own supply farm backed up by a government mandated program & private initiatives,..... Might as well go back to bed. Somebody just told me to keep dreaming...

Thing have continually deteriorated since NDC took over. Unfortunately for us a lot of people in Ghana think politics is a tribal thing. Maybe it is after all and that is why we have to vote these guys out in 2016.

Not having power is a national security problem. Business can never operate at an optimal level. the Ghanaian company has no chance in hell to compete with any foreign company and yet they tell us buy made in Ghana goods. Traffic lights do not work. Total darkness at night only creates the atmosphere for thievery. Most thieves and armed robbers are NDC supporters anyway. If this continues we will have to take the country back. GHANAIANS Please make noise and voice your displeasure. Even churches have political affiliations. THIS COUNTRY IS IN SHIT!!!!!!!

Boating can you imagine what is happening to people who are affected? what is even annoying is that credits on various metres will be deducted if the lights comes on.
