The temptation to know the future or a situation through the occult, divination, were practices of the heathen; God forbade his people from consulting necromancers who specialized in such practices.
Pouring libation to talk to familiar
spirits of our dead loved ones is also a sinful practice. God has a warning for his people to refrain from such practices.

"When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God." Deuteronomy 18:9-13

Christians do not pour libation to talk with the dead; they pray to God instead. "When ye pray say Our Father which art in heaven...." Luke 11:2.

"And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light (truth) in them." Isaiah 8:19-20.

God's hatred of his people consulting with familiar spirit can be seen in the punishment for the one who had a familiar spirit.

"A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them." Leviticus 20:27.

They invariably end up in an already crowded civil service sector fighting for positions,occupying government bungalows till they retire in poverty,go home n die.
On the contrary, an average educated ashanti will not want to work for the motherfucker civil service sector. Being untimid n courageous, will operate his own business. An average educated ashanti will only be a civil servant when there is no option n even that do his small business in addition to supplement his or her income in order not to end up in government bungalows.
Ewes do not have this basic common sense.After all the school v/r is one of the poorest regions in Ghana. Why aren't ewes able to translate what they learn in school to develop their region for them will be done by an uneducated ashanti.

In the Gold Coast, when the Denkyiras were tormentors of the weak or small states such as the Asantes, it was the Akwamus who propped up Osei Tutu with the help of Okomfo Anokye to liberate these Asante states. The consequence was the formation of the Asante Kingdom under King Osei Tutu. To keep the young Asante Kingdom from unwarranted attacks and harassment from other tribes as well as to consolidate and entrench Osei Tutu’s authority, the Akwamus left a contingent of warriors to keep guard. Those Akwamus settled in Batama, Adum and Asafo. The Akwamus so distinguished themselves in the art of Chieftancy and warfare to the admiration of King Osei Tutu and his elders that they were honoured by creating Black Stools for them. Thus, Asafohene was made the Akwamuhene of Kumasi; Bantamahene made the Krontihene of Kumasi and Adumhene made Banmuhene of Kumasi. These positions still exist today. Other Akan tribes also followed suit and created the Akwamuhene position in their various states. That is why in every Akan town, we have an Akwamuhene who wields significant power. This also amply demonstrates why the Akwamus are scattered all over Ghana.Nana Ansa Sasraku also played an important role in the life of the King Osei Tutu of Asante. He protected him from the Denkyiras and when he was called to take over the Kwaaman stool Nana Ansa Sasraku provided him with 300 Asafomen from Akwamu to guide him to Kwaaman. When Nana Osei Tutu arrived, he gave all the men to Kwaaman Asafohene and they became citizens of Asafo and that won the Kumase Asafohene the title Akwamuhene of Kumase. According to oral tradition, the whole structure of the Asante army that was started by Nana Osei Kofi Tutu l and helped the Asantes through many wars, was a replicate of the well organised Akwamu army. The Akwamus developed a peculiar military maneuver termed “the three fold approach” unknown to the rest of the people - (Adonten, Benkum, Nifa)” - the front guard; the left and right guards.

Nana Osei Tutu was also assisted by the Anumfuo (later Adumfuo) who accompanied him from Akwamu, in execution cases. A large number of the Asantes of today originated from Akwamu especially, people from Asafo and Adum as well as sections of people from Bantama and Barekese.

Anokye, according to legend could perform spiritual feats. His father Annor became surprised. Anytime he performed any such feat, the mother will call Okomfo's father and say it in Guan: "ANNOR KYE" which means ANNOR HWE.
Anokye befriended Osei Tutu at Akwamu when they held sway over parts of Ghana including parts of Asante and Guan. When Oti Akenten who is the uncle of Osei Tutu died, the two friends ran to Asante where Osei Tutu succeeded his uncle. He then helped Tutu to defeat the Denkyira who had become o yoke on the Asantes and parts of the Akyems.

Go to Awukugwa and you will see his birth place which had been preserved for posterity. Kwame Frimpong Manso, Okomfo Anokye's real name has no root to anywhere in the Volta Region. Can you tell us where we can locate his birth place at Notsie and I have problem getting myself together as to why no history book had ever made any reference to that.

Stop drooling and accept the fact because you cannot change anything. To some of you JJ brought democracy to Ghana forgetting that our first leader was elected through the ballot box.

The history you know is that of Ashantis but the real history is there for all to learn. Now, ask yourself why the current Asante King is visiting Awukugwa because he knows the real history of the great Okomfo Anokye as an Akuapim and not an Ashanti from Agona.

Oh by the way it says the family of Okomfo Anokye at Awukugua. But is Okomfo Anokye an Akwapem, or just a resident of Awukugua. If so where did he originally, come from. Some say that he was an Ewe, from Ngortsi in the Volta Region and he was the 'okomfo from Ngotsi i.e the chief priest from Ngotsi.' The name Ngotsi was adulterated over a period of time to 'Anokye'. Is it true?

Unfortunately the woman (fair lady) that they sacrificed was later discovered to be ckomfo Anokye?s own mother who was used for the ritual. Okomfo Anokye then turned against Dankyiras and supported the Asante state. This time he said a leader or a general should offer himself to be shot as a sacrifice. The man who offered himself was Tweneboa Kodua. Because of the sacrifice, there is a saying that Kodua de ne ti agye Asante-man.
