  Thumbs up to you Mr. Minister for the rehabilitation works. But please do not lay off 100 workers because of this rehabilitation wks. For the folowing reasons:
  1. The tono project has been operating consistently (two seasons yearly).
  2. There hasn't been any adverse findings against the project in the last ten years at least.
  3. Season after season casual workers are recruited to augment staff strength.
  4. Over staffing has never been an issue, not even at BOD level.
  5. Indeed, in 2007 another massive rehabilitation took place on tono project resulting in the recent increase in rice production but this did not result in redundancy.
  6. The proposed staff strength of 40 to be retained in the company is unrealistic, unscientific and will certainly crash the project immediately, if you really know the project area and the mode of operations.
  7. There is a lot of negative meaning that could read into this redundancy move(Parochial and Political)
  8. In all these the poor worker whose livelihood largely depends on this project has not been engaged in anyway even when the minister came to region to launch the RESULT project in Bolgatanga.
  9. The workers' views may help you in this adventure if they were engaged.
  10. Is REHABILITATION synonymous with REDUNDANCY? I humble myself before you for your mature response.
