But more importantly, regarding Hilda Addo's point, there was a lot of talk about how a contest is divisive and will cost the party elections in 2016 and that Alan should throw in the towel before hand and allow Nana Addo to go unopposed

My view is that if the expected defeat comes Nana Addo's supporters, to wreak revenge, will point to Alan's campaign as having been the cause.

Surprisingly, no one said in 1996 that it was the internal campaign that cost the NPP victory
