So refreshing to hear that the civilized Kumawu citizens are applying the superior Asante wisdom to exhaust all the existing legitimate structures to resolve this dispute which could have turned bloody if the Kumawu were to be a place like Trokosi Hohoe, Yendi, Saboba or Chireponi. Enough respect to kumawu people and hope they would lift high the mantle of peace no matter how the final verdict may be.

I have a history lesson and a warning to my own ASHANTI FOLKS.

Osei Kofi Tutu I was shot and killed by Akyems in 1717.

The Akyems have always been a small but divisive group. They would align with anyone, anything to get their wishes.
Ghana is changing fast. The Ewes are increasing in size and education, the northerners are also multiplying.

If we do not change and tell these Akyem mafias to get off our backs and learn to settle within the hegemony of a greater good for Ghana, there will come a time when we will be out- numbered and I fear our children will suffer for our past misdeeds.

Our past can be forgiven but we have to change first.

Stop trusting these Akyems. They aligned with the Akwamus, Fantis, Gas and even till now Colonialists just to get their interest.

Imagine, they turned you against your own Son, Alan Kyerematen even when signs were that he could have been the bridge between Ewes and Ashantis at long last.

What can't they do? This is not an alliance of equals but one of opportunism. It is wrong and bad for future Ashantis.

Hey my people, you can do better, don't be deceived. We brought down the might Denkyira with wisdom and great tact. Where has these virtues gone.
We stand together as brothers and sister of a common Ghana against globalization, extremism and pestilences like Ebola.

We have always had values of the common good, unity and strength and not fear of an unknown. Don't let these Akyem Mafias use you, Nananom.
Wake up, Nananom, wake up Ashanti. Let's forge a better future with our fellow Ghanaians

There was no need for Police and Soldiers the day he went before the King Makers or today for that matter. This is and event that should have been witness by the entire Kumawuman so we can all rally behind our King for Unity(though a few may have objected) Some of us may not live to see such an event. And it should have been an event witnessed by the young so they could learn from it and use it to guide them for future events.

Why can't somebody with some knowledge of this long standing chieftaincy problem inform “some of us”, who don’t have much intimate knowledge, about what the heck is going on in Kumawuman? For instance:

1) Why is the Kumawuman queen mother such a lightning rod to handle—even by “medicine” men?

2) Who is this Dr. Yaw Sarfo (a PhD in what or a medical doctor in what)? Who were his competitors?

3) Why was his selection so poignant that the Kumawu queen mother, the Asantehene, most of Kumawu subchiefs, big & small dogs, cats and dabo-dabo in Kumawuman have all been sued over the selection of Dr. Yaw Sarfo?

4) Did the selection of Dr. Yaw Sarfo violate the protocol of the rotational selection of a chief among the three Royal families in Kumawuman?

Please, would somebody out there help us to understand much of this? After all, some of us are also from royal families and know a thing or two about chieftaincy issues in Ghana, but with these inadequate and insufficient pieces of info in this write-up, I don't know what to make out of it. SO, HELP WANTED!!

I hope they are not stuck in the old way of thinking still...that the money belongs to a few People of Ankaase and the ones in Manshyia who helped the Queen

This issue needs to be handled by the National house of chiefs. Not the police. Police instill peace and order. They don't act as solicitors for chieftancy disputes

Otumfuo, Nana Asantehene, please settle Bompata chieftaincy dispute case. As a result of this inaction on the part of your Asanteman Council, the town has been left without a queen mother for several years now, while the current chief who resides in Accra hardly visits the town.

No wonder there is no development whatsoever going on in this town. Without vision, the people really perish, especially the youth of this town. Is this what the Asanteman Council wishes for the same people they are supposed to serve?

It is amazing how we fail to correct injustice in our society as leaders even if our failure to do so is detrimental to the very society we are expected to serve; yet we cry out loud for justice when the matter at hand adversely concerns us.

It is equally amazing to observe that cases brought before the Asanteman Council can drag for over 40 years without any attempt to call for settlement. Such gross inefficiencies definitely call for urgent need to reform the way the Asanteman Council operates.

At long last the battle has ended Kumawu our beloved town is free. Let us unite help our new king with his expertise develope the place. Together we build divided we fall. My fellow kumawumanians a new dawn is here with us , let us embrace it wholeheartedly and help Barima Tweneboa Kodua build the town. The town is lacking a lot of basic social amenities that should not be the case at the normal circumstances, we are lucky to have gotten a full district which is advantageous to us. We are ready to contribute our quota for the benefit of all. I believe Barima Asumadu Sakyi will now rest in peace? Unto our new king I pray for long life, peace and development during your reign. Long live Kumawu.
