Our experience with the quack neo-communists is that, they seize power unjustifiably through coups and counter coups, and Ghanaians only suffer dictatorship, tyranny, corruption and economic mismanagement under them. Being in power now for six years, the NDC has failed again to improve the economy simply because their fundamentals are wrong. In fact, they don't have what it takes to salvage the sinking economy.

Under normal circumstances, political parties are formed to produce leaders democratically. But in the case of NDC, a tyrant created the party with state power and resources to legitimize his illegitimate regime and cling to power fraudulently. NDC is therefore an artificial, illegitimate party followed by stomach politicians and sycophants.

Nkrumah did not have any excuse for doing what he did, except that he was preparing the ground with series of unprovoked actions to create a one party state and declare himself president for life.

Communist ideology doesn't have a place for opposition in the system. Have you ever heard of a communist democratic country with an opposition to check excesses of the government? Nkrumah chose communism as a means of keeping himself in power forever. He therefore imposed the Detention without Trial Act only to gag everybody, create a communist dictatorship and turn himself into a president for life. This is because, the communists don't share power.

Do you remember the Liberia and Sierra Leone civil war and the effects they had on Ghana, Crime rate in Ghana went sky rocketing. Now we have a number of Nigerians living in Ghana using Ghanaian documentation. If the situation in B. Faso got out of hand, Ghana would be the next point of call and all sorts of people will throng here. It is nice they settled their problem peacefully.

Ghana is not and will never belong to any political party irrespective of the tribal composition of its membership. But if the NPP that claims to be the custodians of the tenets of rule of law should applaud the violent overthrow of a constitutionally elected government, then I doubt their democratic credentials. Meanwhile, there is a looming power struggle between Gen Honoro Traore and a Deputy Head of the Presidential Guard, one Col. Isaac Zida. This is a recipe for civil war. Is that what the NPP is wishing on Ghana? No!! God forbid.
