When The President lives in his clean Palace and you keep your environment dirty, you expect him to come and clean it for you. What a stupidity of humans we are.

Believe me, if we tackle our mass transport headache and put more buses and build a rail network, okada will die a natural death. Something that legislation cannot do.

Okada or ordinary motor cyclist, are they allowed to flout the law? That is the crux of the matter - the inability of the police to police traffic. Traffic policing is the highhanded, capricious and most irrational manner our police usually resort to. They normally approach it as if they are against a particular group of motorists. For example, why would the police impound all motor cycles on the street, whether you have all your documents or not?

The bottom line of the Ghana police traffic policing is the extortion of moneys from motorists and not law enforcement. Most of them don't know the traffic rules beyond the driver's licence, insurance, red triangle.

Having said all this, as a motorist myself, the okada riders deserve no sympathy whatsoever. They totally flout all the traffic laws and highway code and expose their customers to extreme danger. Sadly, the police just watch: VISIBILITY POLICING in deed!

If okada operators were law abiding like their counterparts in Benin and Togo do, many sane ghanaians would have advocated for a change in the law to allow okada operation because it is providing vital service, though dangerously now.

Ghana has really gone to the dogs: Police complaining that motor cyclists are flouting the law!!! But please, don't resort to the usual high handed arbitrariness!

i can tell you in the next 5 or so years, okada will become an uncontrollable nuisance in this country. they have now taking it to the ministries just infront of the ministries police station, just imagine where they will take it to in the next 5 years.

What i'm interested in is that if you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem. So don't try to point to me who did what. When i insult you are quick to insult back. when i criticize you, you are quicker to reply. when insult more you are quick to attack. Then why is it that when i pay you, you refuse to pay me? Unless your mirror is broke in any case it should be able to reflect the pay back, money back aspect. So no weapon formed against me will prosper.
