SECONDLY, THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION DID NOT CROSS REFERENCE THE APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION FORM NUMBER WITH THE VOTER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER. IT IS THEREFORE NOT EASY TO CROSS-CHECK DETAILS OF THE VOTER WHEN THERE IS A DISPUTE.

It was Laurent Gbagbo who had typical character like Akuffo Addo brought bloody turmoil in Cote d' Ivoire and not their electoral commission.
Laurent Gbagbo after loosing the presidential elections to Alassane Quatarra went to the constitutional court (Supreme court) of Cote d' Ivoire for some of Quattara's votes to be annulled then he declared himself the winner of the election and that brought about the bloody conflict to restore Quatarra as the right winner.
What saved Ghana in similar situation in 2012 was because Akuffo Addo wasn't the incumbent, he would have been easy for him to hold on to power despite that he lost the election and Ghana would have suffered the same fate as Cote d' Ivoire. That's why I always say it is dangerous to vote Akuffo Addo to power because he has the potential to plunge Ghana into chaos.

It is a deliberate measure by the EC, and if the NPP and all the political parties as well as the various stakeholders are minded by the fact, to go down to the polling stations and conduct in depth investigations, and trace it, it would lead back to the EC, and it would come out strongly that, this phenomenon cuts across all the polling stations not just in Ashanti Region alone but the other nine regions, with greater emphasis and effect in some specific polling stations.
It takes a very heightened sense of vigilance and focus, to ensure that elections are free and fair and credible, especially in the African context, and in Ghana in particular. The Electoral commission seems not to appreciate the issue of free, fair and credible elections, and the processes and procedures leading up to those ideals and it is very, very dangerous.
