  After reading the above I cried and said: "YOU CAN'T KEEP A GOOD MAN DOWN!" No matter how long he is oppressed, his ideas will one day emerge and prevail. The visionaries who suggested these ideas 60 years ago in this country were called names, persecuted and ended up in jail dead or alive. The lucky ones barely escaped with their lives to continue fighting for the ideas in exile. Today, and after all that has happened, don't you think that we deserve an apology from the Nkrumah's communist tradition?

  What the hell is happening in this peaceful country, Ghana?. We talk about DEMOCRACY and all that we do is 'talk talk'. We trade the meaning of DEMOCRACY for violence, lawlessness, indiscipline, arrogance and disrespect for others. Where is the DEMOCRACY if the citizens cannot nominate their own representatives? Sadly none of our political parties have adopted this basic principle in their selection process. Instead, the executive or the decision makers dictate and force their choices on the people! NDC, NPP, CPP, PPP, NDP ETC WHY?

It is like a one party state type of democracy to me even though we go to the polls every four years. We´re always at the mercy of the party in power,like the old Krobo Edusei and Co. style and fashion,buying golden beds for lovers and cronies and footing the bills from the so-called National Cake.npp=ndc=cpp=ppp=ndp=pnp etc.

  For purely informational purposes, may I ask how different this use of the State Outfit, NRCC, is from the use of the Electoral Commission in the Primaries of the NPP?
  
  Do all other Parties have the liberty to solicit for the help of the EC, as well? If that is the case, are the Parties required to pay the EC any fees for its services to them?
  
  If no fees are required in using the services of the EC for Primaries, would that not be similar to the use of the NRCC by the NDC?
  
  Unless a specific inter-party consortium agreed to share the EC for Primaries but no other State Institution, it may be difficult to fault the NDC for soliciting the Services of the NRCC.
  
  I agree to the general expectation that Parties must garner their own resources and fully pay for all services without encumbering the State with their expenses. But if they are using the EC for the Primaries without explicit permission of the Parliament, then the gate is wide open for whatever Services each Party might request of any State Institutions without paying footing the bill.
  
  We must not be deceived by the fact that the EC is charged with ensuring fair Elections in the Nation. That does not necessarily mean any elections other than those directly producing Executives who are representing the LARGER Constituencies and Districts.
  
  We may have to be very specific in what State largesse various quasi-National Institutions could access. There was a time when some folks were even worried about the deployment of Presidential Guards to travel with the President on his campaign tours towards re-election.
  
  In such a case, for instance, could we say the President would be illegally using the Guards for his personal political ambition? We may possibly settle for the reality that the President, in such a case, would still be at post at the Presidency and deserves to be protected wherever he goes. Whatever the fair solution we arrive at, the specifics must be laid down to avoid unnecessary charges.
