Felix, the problem is that government has disappointed workers for a Baker's dozen times so there is no more trust. If workers are not paid for 22 months, how do they trust government. Also BoG workers' pensions are not managed by government appointed trusts/managers. What about that. Besides, if workers are actively involved in appointing and managing who handles their pension funds, there will not be trouble. If government had been transparent with workers from the start with where the workers funds were and the accounts in which they were deposited, and such accounts can be verified at any point in time, this strike would not have been warranted.
What worsened matters was how some government ministers communicated to workers on the air, with statements like the government will not budge. How can Boamah, the minister for communication speak like that? It should be noted that the power of workers and students cannot be underestimated. Those who doubt it should ask the ghost of Kutu.

What can they boast of themselves and what have they achieved for Ghana? They want Ghanaians to be sub-servants to them whilst in their own thinking and mental deliberations; they remain perpetually slaves to neo colonialism. From his birth he was thought to backbite, destroy, kill and make shameless utterances, bully, join occult and make use of cannabis. The matter is that Human Resource Managers in the private sector know how to play their role in the investment of the second tier. If what the unions in the public sector are saying is true then why private employers, including the Association of Ghana Industries and Ghana Employers Association do not incorporate fund manager and custodians themselves, but left their respective fund trustees to appoint the fund trustees who are together with their fund custodians managing the funds.
Imagine if employers are also to say that they will manage their 13% and that SSNIT should be seize to exist. These people do not have the interest of workers at heart. The matter is that SSNIT has run the pension system well and the introduction of the second and third tier would have made SSNIT stronger if it is allowed to run the scheme. Kufuor and hims ministers want a private person to run the scheme and if the state is in the need to finance a project will go to those private people for loan, when the state can loan itself from workers second and third tier and have to pay the interest with bonds.
That will prevent us from taking loans from companies Ghanaian or foreign and also prevent us from paying judgment debts. Will Ghana be paying judgment debts if the infrastructure in the country is being build by State Housing Corporation and State Construction Corporation? The answer is no.

I've been wondering why Mr. ADe Coker is still being allowed to appear on Radio stations as a government communicator. Did he appoint himself on account of being Greater Accra NDC Regional chairman or was proposed by the government communication team? Which ever way, I am urgently suggesting that the man be replaced in the interest of the party and government he purports to represent.
I absolutely have nothing wrong with him being the Regional chair of the party as the duties of the two offices are not the same. One being administrative and the other, the ability to articulate government positions on various issues. Those who listen to KOKUROKOO morning shows will appreciate the sentiments I am putting across here. He is often times virtually "drowned" by other panel members on almost all issues discussed and if this ZEALOUS man should show further his love for the party and bow out honorably.
This, I think is the second time I have come out with this suggestion and I hope someone will bring this to his notice for the necessary consideration and action.
