There is no way we can have that furniture made in Ghana within that short period because our local artisans will have to import the raw materials from places like China which will take months to arrive and clear.
If we are talking about made in Ghana goods then our MPs cannot use the kind of chairs in that house since much of the materials used in making that furniture are not manufactured in Ghana.
Let us stop playing politics with the refurbishment,even the Minority Leader likes it but some are playing politics with it including some saying why they did not consider their heights before making the furniture.
Do we have to go round asking the MPs how tall they are before we buy furniture for our MPs,what about if that MP is no more in the house,we have to take another measurement to replace the furniture,are we one of the normal people on earth?

Please anyone concerned should look at how much it cost to buy the chairs and how much was allocated or was claimed to have been spent on the chairs. It is that simple.

The NDC contractor/behind the scene person collected huge money and spent on a fraction on the project including the chairs. Simple as that.

Detailed planning is always needed for projects like this, every single resource needed as well as the time it will take will be known before the project is even approved. For the house to say there's wasn't enough time is a big disgrace to both major parties as they are disclosing their incompetence

This is a government that resorted to draconian measures, antithetical to principles of free trade, in an attempt to halt the precipitous fall of the perennially-embattled Ghanaian currency, the Cedi, against all major currencies. In essence, the government, while searching for creative, borderline liberty-infringing ways to address exchange rate problems, is itself making nuisance of its advice to citizens to patronize made-in-Ghana goods. It's all the more amusing considering the nation is endowed with mahogany etc. You really couldn't make this up. Elsewhere, the Liberian government, while its citizens preoccupy themselves with silly conspiracy theories blaming Ebola on scientific experiments gone awry, continues to plead to the international community for rubber gloves to address Ebola when rubber is one of Liberia's major exports. Just a day after Members of Parliament (MPs) returned to the House to use their luxurious new furnishing, the chairs and tables imported from China have started breaking. Some of the MPs on Tuesday raised questions about the quality of the furniture from China, and questioned why leadership of the House did not allow local companies to produce them. Just a little pressure on the chairs during Wednesday’s sitting, saw some of the wheels under the swivel chairs fall off.

According to Citi News’ Umaru Sanda Amadu who was in Parliament, MP for Asukawa, Patricia Appiagyei tried to draw the attention of the Speaker by displaying one of the wheels of a broken chair in the air.

Speaking on Eyewitness News, the MP for Lower West Akim, Gifty Klenam said: “It was Shirley Ayorkor Botwe’s chair. As soon as she sat on it, it broke and I had to help her up.” “We tried to get the Speaker’s attention but we couldn’t catch his eye so the bottom line was to get the media to report to them,” she added.

Mathew Opoku Prempeh, MP for Manhyia South on Accra based radio station Asemp FM also complained that his table had broken. Local furniture producers have lashed out at Parliament for importing furniture from China to refurbish their chamber.

The leadership of Parliament explained that the importation was made due to the limited time it had to put the chamber in order for MPs to resume work.The Deputy Majority Leader, Alfred Kwame Agbesi argued in an interview with Citi News that the quantity of furniture needed for the refurbishment could not have been produced on time by local furniture companies.

All this noise encouraging Ghanaians to buy 'made in Ghana' & yet, they can't even abide by their word & set a good example for the average citizen. Instead, their spending millions of dollars for a cheap & fake chairs from all places, China. Why bother technical education, Fuck all of you who took part in this deal, some company in Ghana would have been rich and some Ghanaians would have had jobs to feed their family is this deal was giving to a firm in Ghana, rather to the Chinese who are taking over the continent. Today, some Company in China is rich and jobs are created elsewhere but here. Ghana is fucked up, was mr mahama consulted? I think so, I am very upset

Clearly, in the Mahama NDC gov't, looting is the major preoccupation of the operatives of this gov't, hell bent on looting and burying the country in the abyss.
Corruption, looting and thievery in the Mahama led NDC gov't has assumed an epidemic status(apologies to Nunoo Mensah), with the thick smog of underdevelopment and stagnation blanketing the whole country, under the guidance, control and direction of the Mahama/Amissah Arthur NDC gov't.
Ghana is a goner, and for the country to progress, the NDC gov't would have to be massively, massively sent packing at the ballot box in 2016.
