I know God does not reward sinners, and in His wisdom shifted power to end the sufferings of His innocent people because of Ancestral Curse on the Ananangya/Odumase folks due to the attrocities committed against The Apemso Royals.
"Corrupt chieftaincy dispute", Really? The corruption started with your forefather Adofoahyee and his family who chose to attack The Apemso Royals. Instead of thanking the Apemso Royals who settled them from their sojourn starting from Assumja, they staged a coup d'etat, killed and maimed these peaceful royals to crown themselves (The Ananangya/Odumase folks from Assumja) rulers. The departed spirits of Apemso, the rivers, mountains, oracles etc all turned against your Ananangya/Odumase folks, hence untimely deaths and calamities within that settler group. "YENNTENA OBI SERE SO NA YENNSUM NO"; "SE ONYAME ANSI WO HENE NA WOFA AHENKYE SOA A, ESO WO KWA"; "NFRAMA DE HUUHUU FA ADIE A ONNYA". For the record : Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua was nominated amongst his peers by Kumawuhemaa Nana Serwaa Amponsaa, presented him to Gyaasehene who in turn presented him to The Kingmakers to be vetted. The kingmakers did not find fault BUT for the disgruntled few who invoked OTUMFOUR'S GREAT OATH which dragged the process to Manhyia. The case against Doctor was without merit and was dismissed to pave way for his swearing in. Why are you blaming Otumfour?

Omanbapa, I have read with keen interest all your narratives about the history of Kumawu, which you continue to spew with much hatred towards the Tweneboah Kodua descendants, ie: Ananagya/Odumasi/Papaase. Yes, Adofoahye and his family migrated from the Esumeja Aduana Family but they thoroughly conquered their way to establish a settlement at a place which would later become Kumawu. They met and conquered your Apemso people, which was the order of the day prior to the the establishment of the Asante empire. Weaker towns were subjugated and incorporated to form new and stronger towns. You may argue about the methodology of the Adofoahye in his treatment of Apemso people but remember, Asante empire was built by people who were strong and ruthless at that time, and in some cases they took no prisoners. So don't sit here and whine about how your Apemso people were conquered. That land belonged to some other people before the Apemso people took possession of it. Kumawu royalty belongs to the Aduana clan from Esumeja. That clan gave us Obarima Tweneboah Kodua who sacrificed himself to establish the Asante Kingdom. The royals from that family are the Ananagya, Odumase and the Papaase. The odumase royals were however debarred from the stool because of some historical reasons related to the "PAPA nantwie". You call the Apemso people royals but they were not even recognized as having any claim to the Kumawu stool when the case was heard at the Manhyia palace some years ago. You remember the bogus assertion by Wurukye that "nkokowhedie mienu nko obi afuo ase"? It was established that the "afuo" she was talking about, which is Kumawu, does not belong to her Adomako Pim family.
Now it is also on record that the Ankaase family which now holds the stool, has no blood linkage to it. I blame the queenmother Ataa Acheampong who lied to the then Asantehene Osei Yaw, that the slave girl Ayoo was her daughter. The asantehene impregnated Ayoo, thinking that he was getting a royal child. The rest is history and that's how the Tweneboah Kodua stool has been usurped by the Ayoo descendants who now go under the family name as Ankaase people.
I understand in Asante custom of matrilineal inheritance, one can acquire royalty through the mother. However, there is no record to proof that these Ayoo descendants ever married into the Tweneboah Kodua royal family for them to acquire this royalty status. As a matter of fact having forced themselves onto the Kodua stool, they considered themselves as part of the royal lineage without any maternal linkage at all. The Tweneboah Kodua royals have never accepted them as legitimate for all the time they've occupied the throne. That's the reason why all of the Ankaase chiefs who have occupied the throne since the 1800's, were not allowed to die on the throne. They were either "killed" or forced to abdicate the throne under mysterious circumstances. The only exception was Obarima Otuo Acheampong, who was the first chief from Ankaase to die on the throne and had his stool purified.
Kumawuhene is the junior benkumhene of Asante Kingdom, and his elder brother is Kwaamanghene. Kwaamanghene knows that there is no blood linkage between him and the Ankaase people of Kumawu, and therefore cannot consider the enstooled chief as his brother, both of whom trace their ancestry to the Aduana royal family in Esumejah. I am sure that's why he didn't attend the ceremony.

(2)I'm glad that you have admitted that The Ananangya/Odumase folks are from Essumja. So what prompted Adofoahyee and his followers to leave "home"? Is it true that he lost the contest for The Essumja throne to Kwaku Gyebi Kankanko? Well we all can attest to the fact that Madam Ayo's son Dabo was the first chief from Ankaase and was appointed by his brother-in-law, The Asantehene. WOW! The Tweneboa Kodua royals never accepted them? Really? Well, God The Almighty and the ancestral spirits of Apemso as well as the living accepted them; hence their longevity on the throne.

(4) Why were The Odumase's barred from occupying the throne? It was related to the PAPA nantwie? Really? Whose festival is it, The Papa Nantwie? So who barred The Odumase's then? What has a local festival of Kumawuman got to do with Asanteman Council? Who is twisting history here?

(5) Wurukye is from Adomakopim family. Are the Adomakopim's and The Apemso's from the same family? Wurukye was not a spokesperson for The Apemso's so what is your beef?

(6) Who cares about Kwaamanghene? Has he not been selling Kumawuman lands with Krontihene and Joe Fry as his accomplices? Well I get news for him and his partners in crime: Barima is coming after him. the illegal lumbering by Joe Fry and his cronies will all come to light.

Who cares about LITIGATIONS? We The People have learnt a bitter lesson from Yeateasem era and collectively say "NO" to litigations. The nation wreckers cannot continue to hold our destiny hostage. The money spent on litigations could go a long way to support a school kid in the form of scholarship, pay for a hospital bed, build and furnish a modern library for our community etc.
You can choose to call yourself Peter Dogbe, Rockson Adofo , John Fosu or Prophet whatever; We The People can discern between prudence and stupidity: The decision by Otumfour and The Asanteman Council to accept Kumawuhemaa's nomination as presented through Gyaasehene to The Kingmakers, and finally at Manhyia is MORE PRUDENT than persuing with unending litigations which has plunged Kumawuman into abject poverty. Joe Fry has taken litigations as a career and has skillfully milked The Financiers to build for himself a house and living well at the expense of the ordinary citizens. What happened to the car, Joe?
They can take their appeal to The Hague; We The People have chosen blessing over curse, stability over agitations. All those who profess LOVE for Kumawuman should join us in this nation building. We will rather unite behind Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua, mobilize our energy and resources to develop our community than to spend on litigations whereby lawyers live on our fortunes like parasites. Enough Is Enough, Lawyers please go home or look elsewhere.

Do you know that Dr. Jaja Wachukwu the first Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs was a product of ZICOWA?

Resources and funds that should be used to educate and train our children for the globalized world of trade and technology(as countries in Asia and South America are doing),are rather spent on this superannuated and useless institution.

Like politicians,we pay the chiefs while they collect bribes and sell stool lands over and over again(Mensah Sarbah and other leaders of the Aborigines Rights Protection Society must be turning in their graves).

Some folks,literates and semi-literates equate chieftaincy to culture,which is false and borne out of ignorance. Countries in Europe which got rid of their so-called royals and India,Nepal and Ethiopia,which moved to meritocratic societies, did not lose their individual cultures.

Ghana and Africa have to take a clear look at the relevance of chieftaincy in this 21st Century.Chieftaincy and its customs keep us in the dark, stiffle independent thoughts and opposition - conditions necessary for change in any society.It's unfortunate that educated people like Dr.Sarfo-Asante and Daasebre Oti Boateng of New Juaben should succumb to the lure of chieftaincy,with its Satanic practices and backwardness - all for self-aggrandizement.

Chieftaincy thrives on secrecy, authoritarianism,monopoly of power(it even thinks its powers supersede the Constitution),and is not accountable to the people.For instance,the Asanteman Council has been receiving royalties(hundreds of millions of dollars )from mining companies in Ashanti for over hundred years,but the people are kept in the dark.The chiefs receive the money and spend it without any accountability. Obuasi which should look like Johannesburg(South Africa),today looks like a ghost town straight out of the 19th Century.

For Africa to progress - and not retrogress or continue to stay static,it must abolish chieftaincy and make way for meritocratic societies across the continent.

Barima, akwaaba to kodua and Okyere stool though is a hot seat but with the help of God you can make it. With regards to the chosen name BARIMA TWENEBOA KODUA, big name though we hope you live up to that bravely to take but important and bold decisions to up lift the sunken image of kumawuman. just be your man and consult whenever necessary. From the many articles I read written by one Rockson, money changed hands in the enstoolement process. If this true, definitely this new chief has already sold his conscious with and about money and I am afraid he is going to be a money conscious chief - whether cautioned against it or not. When this happens Kumawu Traditional Area stands to suffer from his money consciousness. If what Rockson said is true and the new chief wants to prove the contrary, he must stand up and build his traditional area and not distribute Kumawu stool lands money to the likes like Mamponghene as Rockson has indicated.
