We are under economic shackles all because of NDC incompetent and corrupt government. We had eight years of NPP government and times were certainly better for us than we have found ourselves in under the six years of GYEEDA,SUBAH,SADA,NSS and least of all Woyome stealling from us a whopping fifty one million.
The NDC and its head corruptible Mahama must give way to the NPP.
At least if I am poor but the sacrifice is giving all children in Ghana some free education then my sacrifice is worth it.
We have nothing to call home and tell mama about in the sad state of Ghana economy. Give us a break Mr.Mahama and your incompetent NDC.

It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

Mr. Kwesi Pratt, could you remember that Rawlings used the TUC and its workers as a springboard for overthrowing Liman's government fraudulently? Could you also remember that he used to take 'Kenkey' to Legon to demonstrate how the size had shrunk under Liman, and we ended up with the "Rawlings' Chain" in his regime but nobody could talk? And could you also remember that Nkrumah used to incite workers to strike against the Whiteman and later on outlawed strikes and said they were unpatriotic in his regime when the economic situation was genuinely difficult for workers?

I don't believe NPP is behind the present wave of strikes. As far as I understand it, NPP is only highlighting the failings and excesses of the government, hopping that it would translate into votes for the party in the next elections. And that is, in fact, a genuine legitimate politics. Everybody in Ghana knows that cost of living under this NDC government is unbearable, and NPP could be seizing the opportunity to tell Ghanaians not to vote for NDC in the next elections. Frankly, I don't see anything wrong with highlighting the failings and excesses of an incapable government to wrestle power from it democratically. NDC is the cause of the strikes because of corruption, over spending, reckless borrowing and economic mismanagement that brought untold hardship on Ghanaians.

Moreover, the monies collected from workers have virtually disappeared, and that Thomson guy at SSNIT is not to be trusted. He is a vampire, and his brother is the other Thomson that was a CEO at STC, and has been removed this year by its workers for pension funds and other wrongdoings. Until the "Big" Thomson at SSNIT is also removed, the extent of the damage done to workers' pensions in this country will never be known. The monies have been misused under Mr. Thomson and SSNIT is bankrupt.

The only lasting solution to this standoff is to send BNI to SSNIT to investigate and unearth the stinking rot kept in their big cupboards. What they will find will send every Ghanaian into the street calling for "blood to flow". Unfortunately, the government itself seems to have a hand in the malfeasance, and that is a potential impediment that workers would have to face.

We have repeated time without number over and over and over again that, the Mahama/Amissah Arthur NDC gov't have looted the tier-two pension funds of hardworking Ghanaian workers going on retirement, after the workers have put in 30-40years of very hard labour. The looting and unrestrained thievery and bastardization of the tier-two pension funds of Ghanaian workers has taken the Mahama/Amissah Arthur NDC gov't, just 4years to scatter it wantonly; from 2010-2014.
There's no tier-two pension funds sitting in any TPFA in any BoG, because were it to be the case, then the Mahama NDC gov't would have been the most reckless and the most lawless yet, to have assumed the reins of governance in the country, after failing to uphold it's fiduciary responsibilities as prescribed by law, in transferring the tier-two pension funds to the scheme and fund managers of labor's choice, and other such statutory obligations in the country eg GETFUND, DACF, which have all by the way, suffered from the long, itchy fingers of the Mahama NDC gov't.
The Mahama NDC gov't should therefore return the looted tier-two pension funds of Ghanaian workers, and transfer it to the fund and scheme managers of labour's choice as prescribed by the law, because the time to revert back to the strike action, has elapsed.
