I agree with Justice Emile Short that the language used by GBA was inappropriate but at the same time, it is true that Afari Gyan's credibility was dented and the image of the Electoral Commission tarnished by what was revealed at the SC Presidential Petition hearing. If Afari Gyan could not define over-voting then why is he the Electoral Commissioner?

The GBA erred to have suggested the appointment of a new EC in advance when the existing one retires in 2015. That is against the constitution and it's sad that those who should be defending the constitution sought to undermine it. I hope they have learnt a lesson from this misguided and uncalled action.

You put together in right order before you depart your children for a journey which, in common logical sense, is a normal action of preference or important to consider but when can pepeni do anything right for the ordinary man? Knowing we have a constitution with straight laws and they have to respect that? When is white they say, is red and black which such common sense to such common law seems to rise high above their understanding. It's a fact that pepeni can't rule

It's OK; this time, the President is also balancing the field by moving the Northeners to the middle income status, and in future, those will jump to the upper class. And take note my friends, just because these people were once our watch-men, garden-boys and on, and on, do not justify to be kept as 'house-boys' at Osu. They paid their dues and worked the hardest at their various professions; they are qualified at their present positions. For a fact, it must encourage the DOOMSAYERS to take their responsibilities seriously, perhaps, they shall also be 'rewarded' in future, on their hard work.

All that this Cape Coast University Plagiarist Minister is trying to do is to divert attention from the big issue within his portfolio as Minister of Labour and Trade Relations which is under heavy criticism regarding the government's intentions to STEAL THE PEOPLES' PENSION FUNDS.

The proposed impeachment of the Speaker of Parliament, whether real or otherwise is more a LEGAL MATTER which this Minister, Haruna Iddrusu doesn't have any knowledge about.

Therefore, all he is doing is to divert attention from the PENSION SAGA which is a Hot Potato at the moment.

SIMPLY GIVE THE WORKERS THEIR PENSION FUNDS AND STOP YOUR IDIOCY, YOU PRICK!!!

That clause even needs to be scrapped, because when the President and the Vice President are out of the country, they are acting in their capacity as the President and the Vice President, and not as ordinary citizens, and that is why all the courtesies afforded President's and Vice President's, are accorded to their person and their entourage.
Swearing in the Speaker in the sense that, the President and Vice President are out of the country, is a very disingenuous proposition and clause in the constitution that demands instant amendment, qualify it and make it appropriate, as to why we should swear in the Speaker to act as the President, and not just because either the President or Vice President is out of the country, executing their mandate as enshrined in the constitution.
It is an ill-conceived clause/provision, and needs to be scrapped and much better reasons found to swear the Speaker of Parliament in as the President of the country.

There are more important issues confronting Ghanaians than impeaching the speaker of parliament for just an insignificant mistake which can be rectified at no cost to the country.If the relevant and pressing issues can be separated from the irrelevances,it will help us a lot.
The 1992 constitution enjoins the president to seek the welfare of every Ghanaian.But John Mahama has been appointing only people affiliated to him by political party,familial,friendship and tribal.Definitely,this is more serious a breach of the constitution to warrant an impeachment than a conspicuously erroneous one arising from what is unequivocally a misinterpretation or misunderstanding of a clause by both the Chief Justice and the Speaker.

He will have to advice himself and leave the position as speaker if he will not respect the constitution and the good people of Ghana. I strongly agree with honourable Bagbin that Ghana's democracy is in crisis and not only that but a constitutional crisis as well. The speaker should know better.

How ignorant could he be to suggest the impeachment of a speaker who knows the law better than him and trying to correct it? Instead of making a case for that article and clause to be streamlined, he put on a partisan lens to read and interprete it his own ignorant way suggesting rubbish! My question to him is, was the vice president and president incapacitated, or on vacation at the same time? He shoukd reread the constitution and stop spewing rubbish! The speaker cleverly knowing that article is sick wanted to spark a debate. Hence his action and the Chief Justice saw that wisdom. Akkufo is a disgrace! Now these guys - the President and his vice can both leave the Country and hope to come back and find their offices intact. I will give that credit to the Ghana Armed Forces for being so cultured.
