It is unfortunate that Dr Akewetey did not boldly come out to say that the stance the npp took before, during and after the 2012 election is what has created the seeming lack of trust among a section of the populace. Remember the npp went to Dzorwulu claiming their votes were being stolen. Just before the results were announced they claimed the had evidence to prove their votes were again stolen. Later they involved the whole nation in a protracted court Case only to bring out irregularities on pink sheets.OSU police station where I vote was named among so-called" unknown polling stations" .This frivolous court case has not only undermined the credibility of the court case but is also partially responsible for our present economic conditions. So let's call a spade a spade and let's see about the best way forward.

Instead of excoriating the voting public for something that applies to the NPP, please be a man and call out the NPP. Ghana's EC has been battered and bruised while its director has be maligned by people in the NPP and on some on the Supreme Court who allow their political party loyalties to tamper with intellectual honesty and search for truth in the courts.

Members of the NDC and other minor parties have not attacked the EC; far from it. It has been the ungrateful, unrepentant, diabolical saboteurs in Ghana otherwise known as the NPP who have played god with all things politics in Ghana. How is it that an incompetent EC, a so called closet supporters of the NDC can organize election for the selection of the leadership of the NPP and get NPP leaders fall over each other trying to give praise to the EC and yet have card carrying NPP members continue to assail the reputation of the EC? Man up and call out the NPP for their chickenshit and stop the act of cowardice that is far too common the character trait of Ghana's educated and political elite.

HONESTLY, THE LEAST THE SUPREME COURT COULD DO, AFTER DISMISSING THE CASE OF THE PETITIONERS IN THE 2012 ELECTION PETITION, WAS TO ASK THE CHAIRMAN AND HIS TWO DEPUTIES TO HAVE STEPPED ASIDE AND NEW COMMISSIONERS APPOINTED: NOT BY THE SITTING GOVERNMENT BUT BY THE PUBLIC SRVICE COMMISSION IN OPEN CONTEST BY THE BEST QUALIFIED IN THE CONDUCT OF FAIR ELECTIONS.
