  It makes me remember how many of us were treated like subhumans by school teachers who got a kick out of gleefully using the cane to the point of inflicting wounds on even first graders in elementary school just because students were having difficulty with understanding what they were teaching. This crude behaviour not only resulted in many children dropping out of school, but also, inflicting permanent psychological damage to many students. It is a great consolation to note that times have changed, and that there are people out there promoting alternative approaches to getting the best out of the younger generation.
