The Armistice was signed at 5am in a railway carriage in the Forest of Compiegne, France on November 11, 1918. Six hours later, at 11am, the war ended.Poppy day has become a world wide day so let us pause for a moment to remember the glorious dead including our soldiers who died in the world wars and forget the politics for now.

yesterday is remembrance day also known as Eleven-Eleven. Let us remember our heroes, our gallant fire fighters...those we lost in the line of duty. They were electricuted, some in motor accident on their way to fire emergencies, some fell from that height, some inhaled a toxic gas, some were consumed in the flames, some even died years after exposing themselves to that hazardous chemicals. These were our heroes, these were the great fire fighters...they were once like us, they were here before and we shall remember them! By richarddon21@gmail.com
