This attitude from GFA officials including the president is nothing new. It has been ongoing for decades, and is just like pay as you play for the national team. I'm an ex-footballer, and knows what is happening within selection to play for the national teams from under 17 to the Black Stars. Richard Kingston voiced it out, his brother Laryea did the same, and the latest was the outcome at the world cup in Brazil. Selection to play at national levels are always lobbyed by owners of teams in the premier league, likewise some officials at GFA. This makes it difficult for coaches to select the right people for the national teams, as well as who must be featured to play at tournaments. Almost every player in our current national teams have been extorted one way or the other before.
