It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

NOW WE HEAR OF ALL THESE PROBES AND COMMISSION AGAINST CORRUPTION THROUGH THE PRESIDENT'S DIRECTIVES , AND NOW HIS ENEMIES ARE SHOUTING CORRUPTION LOUDEST! THIS IN MY VIEW IS WRONG ATTITUDE, WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS TO DIG OUT NEW CORRUPT CASES AND CHALLENGE THE PRESIDENT TO ACT ON THEM, WHY VILIFY GOVT. ON THE VERY WAR IT IS WAGING ON CORRUPTION? WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS BRING OUT PROOFS OF NEW AND OLD CORRUPT PRACTICES IN THE SYSTEM. OR YOU ARE JUST BUNCH OF HECKLERS, MR PRESIDENT BUT LISTEN TO THOSE WHO ASKED YOU TO CHANGE YOUR STYLE BECAUSE ALL IS NOT TRULY WELL RIGHT NOW!!!

I have always been critical of the administration of the law and its practitioners in Ghana. I have queried my lawyer friends on the appalling delivery of justice in Ghana. They in response have always laid the blame at the Ghana Judiciary Service.
But are those who head the Ghana Judiciary Service not lawyers? Are they not members of the BAR Association? What effort have they been engaged in to improve the justice delivery system in Ghana? Their efforts are not yielding results and they should go back to the drawing table and come up with better strategies.
Why have lawyers who are always at the forefront of the so called fight to improve the living conditions of Ghanaians, not done anything to improve the justice delivery system in Ghana?
Every facet of our lives is affected by the justice system. If the utility companies fail to provide a service after the consumer has paid for it, it is impossible to enforce them through the courts to provide that service. The case if it should be taken to court will drag on for years, defeating the purpose for which the case was sent to court for.

I give them my applause but the problem is the judges. Our judicial system is so corrupt that even the AG hands are tied if the judges have their own agenda. We the Citizens need to put pressure on this judges to apply the laws of the land. And also we the citizens no matter what party we support, need to encourage this administration to do more instead of using against it because he is fighting his own administration and if a whole leader who has been there before can say that corruption is from Adams time, that telling him that he can be stupid to expose himself to look bad by fighting against his own people because Ghanaians will blame him that's why he didn't fight it. So to me we need to stop politicize corruption in the country and commend the government to do more to expose these tigers dress in the sheep coat. At the end of the day it will help us all. NDC/NPP Politicians in Ghana are the same. Also since we crying corruption, we nned to do our homework and stop bribery.

Lawyer Ankomah need to have his lawyerly head examined and his students retested for facts and not fiction or illogical reasoning to arrive at conclusions. Every nation with effective system of government, relative peace, development and prosperity can point to effective institutions of government that use existing civil, criminal and financial laws on their books to ensure that citizens and business entities adhere to those laws. It is not strong men who have the power to make systems work.
Just because management and rank and file workers at Ghana's civil institutions are politicized as to normalize moral decadence according to party rules does not mean Ghana need a brutal man like J.J. Rawlings and or the military to bring about discipline. For starters why would Ace Ankomah not go to court as a citizen of Ghana being impacted by the corrupt practices of government where and when he sees act ofcorruption? Yes each of us has a role to play in carving out a society we desire and it starts with all you educated elite sticking to facts and not fiction to drive home your warped theories.
As a lawyer and a law school lecturer, Ace Ankomah ought to know there are ways to gain multiple counts of indictable offenses arising from the same criminal activity. And a good prosecutor can also seek punishment that are served one after the other. Laws are not static but alive and molded by those with wisdom and imagination.

POLITICS DOES NOT OFFER PERMANENT JOB. It is therefore NOT A PLACE FOR THE POOR. THIS IS THE HARD TRUTH. Politics is for PEOPLE WHO ARE RICH. They have their BUSINESSES ALREADY, THEY HAVE THEIR HOUSES ALREADY, I mean they are WELL TO DO. When the TERM they are supposed to serve is over, THEY HAVE NO PROBLEM LEAVING, BECAUSE THEY HAVE THEIR PERMANENT MEANS OF LIVELIHOOD ALREADY. Politics is NOT for SOLDIERS, CIVIL SERVANTS, TEACHERS and OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN EMPLOYED BY OTHERS. The introduction of THESE GROUP OF PEOPLE into politics is the BEGINNING OF CORRUPTION, TRIBAL DIVISION, HATRED, INSULTS, STEALING and all the other bad things we witness in politics today. WHERE DOES THE POOR MAN GO AFTER HIS TERM OF OFFICE IS OVER? This is where the TROUBLE BIGINGS. HE/SHE has to prepare himself/herself for that. ELECTORAL FRAUD, CORRUPTION, STEALING MONEY THAT DOES NOT BELONG TO THEM, SPEND TIME INSULTING HIS OPPONENT because he is a threat to his livelihood, PAY HIS WAY THROUGH ELECTIONS (that is, giving gifts for votes) and all other bad things that does not help the nation, but serve the interest of that individual

I am glad Ghanaians know the institutions that are involved in these practices. It is excellent reciting them given the least opportunity. I will suggest Politicians of all the parties go a step further, and tell the public about policies they will implement to fight this cancer in the society. Unless that is done, enumerating them at the least opportunity is an exercise in futility, and shows the political class are bereft of ideas or are all party to the sumptuous food on the dinner table.

Sorry to say but, all the enforcers of our laws are culprits of the crimes we want enforced. If you say we have no men to enforce the laws I will beg to differ coz I see it as a slight on the Chief Justice who happens to be a capable woman. One way to stop corruption in Ghana is to make a bribe a serious crime punishable by not less than five years in prison for the first offense to both the giver and the taker. Bribe should be redefined to include gifts passed on when in negotiation for an official work or deal that derives a profit for the seeker and or his/her entity.

Yes Mr Lawyer, how true you are - for fighting and resisting corruption calls for people with strong spiritual minds. In the absence of this, forget it, the practice will fail. Where are the strong willed Christians in Ghana? Where are the die hard Moslems in Ghana? Do we still have them? The case of National Service Scheme, is the Director a Moslem or a Christian? What about the CHRAJ lady, where does she belong to? Until we get Christians and Moslems who are that committed to their faith that speak against this, bribery and corruption will continue to prevail.
