It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

If the logic holds, why are there alleagtions of bribery at national elections which involves an even larger number of voters? By and large, the winner is always the prefered choice, with or without the bribe, as all the candidates at one place or the other is accused of having bribed some voters.

Has China with 1.6 billion people not seen its share of bribery and corruption? Why not make every registered card carrying member of the NPP and or NDC delegates to ensure each member vote count equally? Or did J.J. forget about the more than 100 percentage outcome of the just concluded delegate voting of the NPP?

Unfortunately it would not reach them. This does not mean bribery did not take place, it only means some greedy ones took and kept the money of others. So you see, corruption is a function of the mentality of the individual not the size of the popuplation of voters. The leaders of some regional chairmen were bribed. At least there was a leaked tape. JJ has over simplified the reason for an enlarged electoral college. The reason for expansion of the electorate for NPP primaries I believe was for fuller participation by stakeholders of the party and not the preserve of a "small elite" who felt entitled to determine the fate of the party each time. If it was to prevent bribing as JJ is saying, then I am afraid NPP needs to come and explain. Un incorriptible man will stand for what is just and right always no matter how many corrupt people surround him.

Rawlings should know that if it is not intentional then he is doing more harm to the NDC than good for his praises of Nana Akufo-Addo. He is giving ammunitions to the NPP to attack NDC when the opportunity comes. Maybe he is doing these to appease to Nana that should in case he wins the elections in 2016 he would be spared of all his crimes. Remember he asked the same question when he invited Nana to his house just before the 2012 elections? The guy is smart for he knows what he has at the back of his mind.
