It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

How different is that going to be with political party followers (those I call FOOLISH FOLLOWERS) strongly stepping in to cover these criminals hiding behind political parties? Wisdom has eluded most Ghanaians to the extent that when a criminal in politics is caught red handed in a crime, REFFERENCE IS MADE TO A SIMILAR CRIME THAT HAS GONE UNPUNISHED (when your party was in power, you did even worse) to justify the present one. This is how far we have lost our conscience. How about those who have nothing to do with any political party, what do you tell them to justify your crime. Until something is done about our constitution to give a little more autonomy to law enforcing agencies to operate without fear of reprisal from the executive branch of government, we will not be able to change much. To see a police man being ordered by the AMA Boss on the street to arrest a driver for tooting his horn, really makes a mockery of law enforcement in Ghana. If those in uniform understand the law properly, they can use their discretion in situations like these. Do you think such a policeman can arrest this AMA boss if he finds himself on the wrong side of the law? Who determines that 'the big man' has broken the law and must be arrested at once? With poverty, unemployment and deliberate attempt by politicians to DIVIDE GHANIANS ON TRIBAL LINES, it will only get worse until these are addressed. I rest my case.

Pastor Otabil and a few public spirited nationals are speaking against corruption. So that monies that should go to hospitals, schools and colleges, building of good roads and bridges, provisions of water
and electricity etc etc will go into government coffers than to end up in individuals pockets. Everyone is entitled to an opinion on the subject of corruption. It narrows down to two positions. You are either a part of the problem or the solution.

He has consistently attacked the present administration with assertions that are just plain hysterical....no, pastor partisan, everyone has to change their attitude and that includes you and all those who were fulminating against corruption and by extension, Mahama. Every Ghanaian including you is corrupt to the bone...if you are not corrupt you would stay away from politics as far as you can in order to maintain this aura of neutrality.....but you are not doing so...if I piss in publicly in Accra the simple reason is because there are no urinal facilities and not that the law in Ghana does not work. The law works in London because there are urinal facilities. What an intelligent deduction by the pastor....and to talk of tax obligations is absurd....when was the last time the tax system in Ghana was overhauled to ensure people like you don't escape your obligations? The country has been brought to it's knees, and Ghana and Ghanaians are being made to traverse the quagmire of retrogression and absolute stagnation, on the back of repugnant and unrestrained malady of overbearingly grotesque and stinking corruption, looting and thievery with incompetence to boot, setting the stage for a cataclysmic G-force descent into the pits, akin to the El Dorado of failed and banana republics, dotted across the continent, where governance has given way to a brigandage and banditry, lawlessness, impunity, recklessness, and perverseness earning Ghana, a very unenviable and uncharitable accolade as the "REPUBLIC OF CORRUPTION" and to add to it, the CITADEL OF LOOTING AND THIEVERY, under the Mahama-led NDC gov't.
Clearly, Ghana needs a need direction and purpose. The status quo is incontestably untenable.
Governance has manifestly gone awry and Ghana is suffering for this menace and canker of looting and incompetence.
It's a path that leads to destruction, and going forward, it's absolutely critical and overpoweringly imperative, that the Mahama/Amissah Arthur NDC gov't is massively jettisoned at the ballot box, so Ghana can move forward. Ghana deserves a break from this monumental rot, and that is a giving.

All these agencies are laden with NDC appointees from the time of Rawlings brutal regime till now. A period that spans 30yrs. These agencies, especially the security forces have become more or less political wing of the NDC. They got to where they are because of NDC and will never lift a finger to correct the sins of NDC. THis is a system that has been cultivated by J J Rawlings and it exist today. Everybody is in it for the money and they are looting left, right and center. An open competitive examination system should be instituted to test qualified applicants for all govt. jobs. The test should be marked by an independent outside body to avoid manipulation by any one. When we do this, then cronism and favortism which has been the hall mark of employment in Ghana will stop. With this corruption will also stop. THis is the way forward from the bottom up. Let me give you a good example, look at the security forces of GHana today. It is heavily populated by Ewes and Northners and especially at the top. It was Rawlings machinations to insulate and protect himself. This is the only reason the NDC has done so many rotten things and gotten away with it. Start instituting the open competitive exams for jobs and the rot will go away. Thank you Pastor Otabil..
