FPSO agitations: MODEC threatens to sack more Ghanaian workers

Agitations in the Petroleum industry is likely to escalate as MODEC initiates moves to sack more Ghanaian workers on the FPSO.

Hundreds of workers in the sector are threatening to strike over the dismissal of 28 Ghanaian workers on the oil vessel.

Modec has filed a complaint at the National Labour Commission as it resists an order to reinstate the Ghanaian workers.

Starr News has learnt that MODEC has summoned more Ghanaian workers over the ongoing agitations.

In a letter distributed to the Ghanaian workers, MODEC urged the agitating workers to note that their contract of employment speaks against involving themselves in activities which does not inure to the direct benefit of the company for more than seven days.
