The women are crying foul, because most (NOT ALL, mark it) of them have been cheating or have been contemplating cheating on their husbands. The men have joined the chorus because most of them are are cheating or contemplating cheating on their wives, so they are afraid if we start stoning cheating wives now, very soon the law would be ratified to castrate cheating husbands as well. When that day finally comes, we will know how many men would be castrated as compared to the women who would be stoned!
Anybody who is not cheating now or contemplating of doing same soon, men or women, must support Banni's suggestion, because that is the only way to bring sanity into most marital homes. The men tell their wives that they are leaving for work, but at lunch time, they sneak into hotels with their secretaries, and by the time they get back home, they sneer on their wives for being naive about what goes on in the hotels between noon and 2.00 pm.
The women tell their husbands they are going on a business trip to Takoradi but sneak into a hotel along the N! highway with her MP boyfriend.
Until these people are stoned or castrated, they will continue to bring bad luck into their homes day after day!

In fact, I do not believe that there is even more than one man in the whole of the country who has not cheated on his partner. Why should there be a different form of punishment for men - castration? Cheating is wrong; no matter who does it.

In the story told about Jesus and the adulterous woman, it was because of the unfairness in the judgement that made Jesus challenge the non-sinner to throw the first stone. Even our present day situation, adultery would be committed by two people - be they two men, or two women, or one man and one woman. For justice to take its course, the woman's partner in crime should have been charged too. Stoning the woman only and allowing her partner to continue living and putting other women through the same punishment was what Jesus saw to be unjust about that law.
I would back MP Baani's proposal if only he could amend his suggestion by changing the culprit from 'woman' to anybody thus: "Anybody who cheats on his partner must be stoned or hanged". Furthermore, parts of our laws must be modified; dowry payment must be a shared responsibility. The intestate law must also mist not seem to be all about the women inheriting the men, but also the men inheriting the women when the latter die intestate. Then the women would shut up and mend their ways if they see themselves as the ones more likely to cheat on their husbands!
Our scientists can also help us by trying to invent a device that would help suspicious couples determine if their partners had cheated on them! This cheating thing has become so rampant in our homes, and a way must be to stop it.

Little by little the crowd thinned out as more and more people realized the guilt of their own sin and therefore walked away.
