When central govt in a 'Third World' country loses control of the economy to the private sector, this is the kind of limitless corruption and senseless chaos that happens.
Businessmen will 'lobby' politicians to outsource everything to private companies and entities from which juicy deals can be made and gained. They even outsource decision-making to the private-sector. This is what is broadly referred to as 'Consultancy'.
Whether we like it or not, or, whether it makes sense or not, Politicians in such circumstances will therefore do anything within this outsourcing arrangement that has the potential to earn them some good kickbacks and mouth-watering wealth on the side - and why not, if we say we are practicing capitalism?
The stark truth of the matter is that in a 'Third World' under-developed country, it does not make any sense for the local so-called capitalist to go through the grinding and most-often, unprofitable toil to manufacture or produce - that is assuming that he can ever get the capital to do so. The best and most efficient way for the local capitalists to make their money is simply to buy-and-sell.
For those who are complaining, I say, you better dry your tears and feel welcome to the capitalist state of Ghana. In other words, you either shut up, put up with it, or, get involved with it!

How did she (Ms. Nayele Ametefe) get to the VIP lounge without a diplomatic passport?
Though it is alleged she did not travel on a Ghanaian diplomatic passport, is she a current or past HOLDER of a Ghanaian diplomatic passport? if yes, under what circumstances was the diplomatic passport issued to her?
How did she get through Kotoka airport customs check-point? 12.5kg of cocaine for God's sake !!! Are security operations at Kotoka airport that loose?
Why did officials of the Ghana high commission in the UK go to receive her at Heathrow airport on her arrival?
Why is Ghana High Commissioner Victor Smith personally going to visit the lady as she is in custody?
Does the high commissioner go "PERSONALLY" to visit all Ghanaian's arrested for drug trafficking in the UK?
Does this lady have any links with the presidency, the president, or the NDC party?
As a matter of urgency the BNI needs to investigate NACOB now !
Lets see the Mahama spin-doctors dance their way out of this one...Felix Ofosu Kwakye, Sam George, and spin-doctor Omane Boamah...kindly proceed to the dance floor.
There is a school of thought that indicates the economic situation in Ghana is so bad that the NDC party will need a "warehouse full of cash" to survive as a political party after 2016; Fortiz isn't doing too well these days...
The NDC party financiers are all falling foul of the law...from Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome...to Ms. Nayele Ametefe.
Many in the NDC party have already resigned themselves to the year 2000 election scenario...and this time the NDC will not only loose the presidency but the parliament as well; reasons:
1. Election 2012 opened the eyes of every Ghanaian to the shenanigans of the the EC;
2. We will have the voting records of all members of parliament via the "Chinese" equipment in parliament. We now have a very good basis to put individual MPs on the spot to defend their voting records; and furthermore, grill them on whether the think through and fully appreciate the implications of their actions in parliament
We draw the attention of the NDC party, President Mahama, and NDC ministers of state to the efforts that we at "Occupy Ghana" are driving to encourage adoption of the USA-styled "no-visa, no-fly" black-list to be adopted by the United Nations.

Tawiah what you forget is that at least the US economy has an advanced industrial infrastructure capable of producing all its needs. We have nothing at all and therefore not the luxury of "outsourcing" the supply all our basic needs to Chinese manufacturing.
What you should also remember is that even with its huge industrial muscle, the importation from China and elsewhere is causing serious difficulties in employment for the US and that is why there is a serious programme to halt the manufacturing flight to China, Mexico, Brazil, Taiwan etc.
It is plain wrong and sinful to compare the economies of the US and Ghana.

Legon, a prestigious or the premier post secondary educational institution which can boast of producing the best minds in Ghana has also shown why our education system lacks all the practical application of classroom learned theories. The notion that everything China is cheap is an idea only people with the aptitude of lapdogs would buy into. There is no cheap labor anywhere in the world than in Africa. The prices of the many raw materials in the world may be high in Ghana but it is more likely the complete and total cost of products will be cheaper if assembled or completed in Ghana than prices of imported finished goods.
Are the heads of Business Admin departments at our universities not capable of putting together private shops of esteemed tailors in Ghana and a promise of renewable contracts that would keep Ghanaians employed for as long as the quality of finished clothing line from the contracted shops meet standards? So while these schools preach entrepreneurial spirits to their students they seem not to believe in their own hype or do not believe it’s feasibility in Ghana; charity does begin at home friends. At issue may be how best to compensate people who have used the procurement practices at institutions to personally gain financial or material rewards and stand a chance of losing those perks should things change.

Thwe whole world is now importing from China, the same China Ghanaians accused Nkrumah of dealing with because it's a communist country. Most products sold in the USA, land of the free and the brave, are imported from China, the biggest communist country in the world. had Ghana's leaders after the demise of the CPP not allowed the country's factories to lay to waste, Ghan might have been manufacturing much of the goods used by its citizens, and perhaps exporting to neighboring countries. Let's therfore not fault legon for importing its gowns from China.
