Why are citizens of our great region causing us so much disaffection? It seems like every milking of the state under this government is done by either Northerners or Voltarians, why? You two have disgraced yourselves and must bow your heads in shame because you cannot from hence be trusted. NYEP, SADA, SUBAH, NSS,WOYOME, ISOFOTON , FIRE SERVICE and the list goes on. This was a Hod given chance under this President to bring development and dignity to our people. Even stealing must be done with some level of intelligence which you guys lack from my point of view. Abuga Pele has always been involved in fraudulent deals including visa racketeering of which I was a victim. That pencil face MP is a big disgrace to his constituents and region. He doesn't help in anyway in the development of his constituency. All he cares about is stealing and spending in big cities, so are his colleague MPs from that region. Its about time we the youth of the area adviced ourselves against their manipulations during voting and show them the exit for fresh serious bloods to take over. We should stop condoning stupidity on their parts which goes a long way to portray descendants of the region as untrustworthy. I am
really appalled because everyday we are in the news but for bad reasons per few greedy nuts. I am a full-blooded indegene of the region but what is wrong is wrong and must not be tolerated especially if it doesn't benefit the masses. My heart bleeds each time I see my folks on the streets of Accra and Kumasi as porters with mostly our beautiful girls carrying babies (bastards) who have no fathers because they are often raped. Youth of the region lets rise and fight for ourselves and not be used by these animals in human clothings.

Everybody chops from his work in Ghana. Do you want the Dr to incriminate himself? He's a witness but can be tried for fraud if he admits to signing the cheque. Right now Assibit and Abuga Pele are on the hot seat.

The stealing is done by folks from all Regions. But it seems these known cases under prosecution are the ones that were more conspicuous and brazen.

We should not protract these trials but simply retrieve our Monies plus ...

We should not protract these trials but simply retrieve our Monies plus interests and jail the culprits for long sentences. The evidence at hand is overwhelming and undeniable. I wish the culprits would just confess to their crimes and spare the Nation further expenditure in trying them.

I bet more than half of the $27 Billion borrowed by the current Administration, since it came to power, has been stolen and stashed in safe-haven banks abroad.

Many of the culprits seem to have the common characteristic that they deem this opportunity in Government as their unexpected, once-in-a-lifetime gift-from-providence that they had to capitalize on to the max to become multi-millionaires.

These folks have unfortunately caused the current unreasonable stereotyping of their various backgrounds by angry observers. But we must be cautious not to fall into such a trap. Not all Northerners and Voltarians are corrupt, or are frantically clamoring to steal from our coffers.

We must observe that hardly any of these folks has ever embarked upon any project that would benefit their communities with their stolen wealth. Majority of the people from similar backgrounds are still languishing in helpless poverty for lack of jobs and business opportunities.

We must join that majority in each of those Regions to expose the few thieving leaders among us and deal with them appropriately.

Without a doubt, these three, Abuga Pele, Assibit and Gariba, hail from one place and one place only: the belly of the beast, Herr Corruption, which not only has it grown so monstrously in the country but also is eating away at the very legitimacy of the so-called democracy in the country.

Hear him, Dr Gariba: "I signed it without knowing the work they did. If it was today, I would not sign." (It could've have been worse: he could in a traditional Ghanaian corruption and thievery fashion have blamed it on the Devil! Why he didn't, like almost all Ghanaians tend to do, blame that act of thievery on the Devil but on Stupidity is itself not strange for stupidity itself is one of the defining forces of the character of Ghana today!)

This PhD-holding thief will have it both ways and eat with both hands! He claims that his institute, MDPI, and GIG had no contract with YED/NYEP to carry out certain activities, still he signed a cheque to cash a huge amount of money purported for funding those activities! It's not too clear what he's trying to play here, victim or folly or liar!

And as if that 'double-eat' act is itself not bad enough, see how he attempts to resolve the contradiction: "I signed it without knowing the work they did." At this point and on this claim, he's taking that act of thievery a notch higher: he's insulting the intelligence of both all Ghanaians and all Ghana! When a thief takes his bravado of criminality to this height, it says more about us than about him! After all, not long ago, in this very dungeon of a polity, a whole Minister of Finance could claim that he signed a cheque, which involved a huge amount of money, without understanding the language in which it is written! And that minister, who looks uglier than I do, is today championing the cause and course of an aspiring presidential candidate who, himself, not long ago, running cloudy-high, was employing ethnic mobilisation and violence as instruments of winning political power in a multi-ethnic society! Never mind that that former minister was ever the CEO of a bank and, thus, should know the legal and financial implications of signing a cheque! And never mind, too, that he presided, coolly, over the collapse of that bank! These cheque-signers, the country is full of them! Plentiful in supply! From all angles and from all corners! With the two leading political GANGS -- what in Ghana-speak they misnomer-ly term parties -- at the fore-front!

Back to that man of double-'eat'! Why he adds that bit -- "if today I would not sign" -- to that tale he told in court is not too clear! Perhaps at that criminal moment he was signing the cheque, he lost his thinking cap?
Never mind he holds a PhD, from Canada -- not from one of the schools under trees in Nankpaduri! Perhaps, it's true that keeping so many books on your bookshelves does no more make you a professor than wearing a badge of Dr on your name make you wise or intelligent! Sitting in court and being confronted with evidence of his thievery, he exposes himself, "if today, I would not sign". Danduruwa, certainly, if not today, you no go talk true! Thieves!
