It is only in Ghana would such a dishonorably idiot be on the government pay roll. Professor Mill should be solely blamed for imposing those criminals on us. After Mills found Betty Moulds guilty of judgement debt payments the only thing he could do was to move her to the Education dept to continue her looting. Readers would recall that Betty Mounds was the one who awarded SCHOOL building contracts at a triple price of the existing contract sum of some GH 80,000.00. And this happened at a time when they claim inflation was in the single digits. Could you imargin how foolish these criminal liars were. Kuffour built similar structures with 80,000 at a time when inflation was around 14.8% and under Mills it was 240,000 at a rate of 8.8%. And these buffoons turn around to blame the fall of the cedi on some mysterious dwarfs. I don't blame those African countries that have been ripped apart by civil unrest because if you have such buffoons in power who always turn our local elections into a West Africa one
by contracting Togolese Trokosis, Burkinabe and Wangaras from La Cote D'ivoire to vote for them, the " Road To Kigare", is sometimes, a likely option to kick their ass from power.

Any Tunisian or Burkinabee-syle revolution in this country will have to start from the parliament as it happened in Burkina Faso. Our parliamentarians are so hopeless that the Executive can easily manipulate them to deplete our coffers. If someone hadn't blown the whistle about the GNPC's $700mln dubious loan, the booty could have been shared and squandered without our notice. And our Parliament should have been at the forefront calling for the CEO to resign.

Obviously, Ghanaians are still not hearing the whole story, and we may never know exactly what the money was going to be used for. We believe GNPC would have hurriedly approached the parliament for approval, if the recent massaged justification given by the CEO was really true and the company had nothing to hide.

This whole thing smells like a stinking rot, and the so-called representatives of the people, hired and over paid to examine and authorize spending, must live up to expectation and do their work properly. They have a duty to make sure that the dubious loan is either cancelled or used for the intended purpose, and not allow the money to go down the drain into the pockets of politicians and their cronies as usual.

Who pays loan if GNPC defaults? Won't that fall on government to bail out GNPC. Is GNPC a government establishment or a private institution? Just throwing dust in our eyes.

This policy shift and trickster's argument that corporations of the state such as GNPC, ECG, Cocobod, etc. in which government of Ghana is the sole proprietor as public entities, are by law cloaked with the power to borrow internationally without recourse to Parliament is flawed if not fraudulent. We all know that the render essential services and hold assets which the people of Ghana have direct political and economic interest, far more than their Presidentially appointed Boards. In default of any loan, their assets will be seized and sold by the lender, then government will have to step in the bail them out. The ultimate loss is the tax payers and that is why Parliamentary approval is a must lest they run the treasury broke. It suprises me that a Finance Minister who is already running a huge debt to GDP ratio and huge deficit will be championing this cause for GNPC. What the does the leader of Ghana's IMF Negotiating Team, Dr Kwesi Botchway say about this policy bravado, after Rawlings' so called "Financial Wizard" Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata had saddled him with a similar bad debt in the 1990s, which forced him to resign in protest. The problem with our current media landscape is that there are too many novices running news reportage and analysis in print and broadcast who don't make these historical linkages.

This govt is being run by people with the mentality of class 4 pupils. No imagination, no initiative, no creativity and therefore, no ability to produce and develop. Meanwhile, they insist on using state institutions to fuel corruption for themselves.

If something doesnt happen real quick in this country, we will one day all come to the very unfortunate realization that we have been taken for a long bumpy ride for nothing and there will be gnashing of teeth.
