Indeed, if the original report that went viral on social networks didn't implicate the Government of Ghana and officials of the High Commission in London, neither the President nor government spokespersons would have felt the urge to comment on this sordid issue. However, due to the low intelligence quotient of most people who are commenting, they chose to ignore the most damaging aspect of the whole saga. Any serious media practitioner who is worth his salt would not sit on his fat backside and re-publish reports which did not originate from them ditto-ditto without verifying the veracity of the report. No wonder the President once referred to Ghanaian journalists as lazy.

When someone gets to Ghana immigration and shows their European passport, the border operatives do not care whether ot not the person has a Ghanaian name or speak any Ghanaian language, but make sure there is a visa in the passport before allowing entry. Such a person would not be the charge of the Ghana government in any emergency.
What is the president saying about the mission of the Ghana High Commission in London to visit the busted cocaine who, according to NACOB, Omane Boamah, Ambassador Smith, and every minnow, was travelling on an Austrian passport, when the Austrian High Commission in London had no idea about what was happening?
The president must be impeached for taking Ghanaians for fools! He and his entire government are all corrupt criminals and liars. There is more to this cocaine story than what we know now. The truth will always prevail!!

Indeed, the report was true that, Nayele Ametefe was a NDC drug baron. The report was true that she carried suitcase-loads of cocaine through the VVIP lounge of KIA. The report initially was sketchy about the relationship of the NDC drug baron to the Mahama family, which has subsequently been proven, that she is indeed known to the Mahama family. The report was true that she has numerous passports of which there was a diplomatic issued one, which invariably served as the basis for the Ghana mission, to rollout the red carpet for her. The report is true that she was carrying 12.5kg of cocaine in her hand luggage. The report is true that, the UK authorities searched her hand luggage and found the cocaine in the hand luggage. The report is true that, the cocaine that the NDC drug baron was busted with had a street value of over $5million dollars, and constitutes one of the biggest cocaine hauls ever in recent memory. There are no inaccuracies in the report, so if we have an very deliberate and conscious effort to discredit such an incriminating report by the media which has been credible in it's reportage, just so as to deflect from the crux of the matter, then we submit that, it is most unfortunate. We should remember that, this NDC gov't is one gov't which is trotting all over the world looking for credibility.
The sort of circumlocution that is happening with respect to this busted NDC drug baron's saga, is not helping John Mahama and the NDC gov't and party. This is definitely not the time to try and wish the story away using deflection as a communication strategy. The Mahama-led NDC gov't should own this because it's on record that, the NDC party is involved in the drug trade. Adela-quaye who was busted is an example. Owahene who was whisked out of the country under very bizarre circumstances is again another example. The issue of NDC drug barons using the KIA as it's hub and transit point for the global trade in cocaine is not good for the country, and it needs to be fixed.
