if the BNI and president Mahama are fair, I expect the editor of this news paper to spend the weekend in BNI cells for denigrading the Judiciary and government. Or is it because Martin Amidu is involved?

It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

Check this out: Asiedu Nketia until he became an NDC manager, "general mosquito", he was a village teacher. Within his short political life, he has become a multi millionaire, worth over $100 million at the backs of the hard working tax paying Ghanaians.
BNI should investigate this. This is where we need Amidu, the no-nonsense former attorney General.

The Sole Commissioner is threading on a mine field when he starts entertaining crap from Martin Amidu. The one thing that has been lacking in Ghana's courts is a capacity for the Ghana Supreme Court to understand how a breach of one principle, legal or cultural norm, affects other principles.

For example, a police officer who knowingly accept a bribe from a driver of an overloaded passenger lorry/vehicle and let the driver drive away with the violations should be civilly and morally culpable for damages if there is an accident that hurts/destroy lives and property. Because our motor vehicle moving violation laws can only be enforced by our police enforcement officers and aiding and abetment of wrong doing of drivers and their mates undermines our laws governing moving violations.

At the national level Martin Amidu and the Supreme Court of Ghana was intellectually dishonest to have narrowly decided that because of a constitutional mandate requiring the pre-approval of contract by the legislature for contracts between government and a partly owned foreign entity, the Woyome conditional contract with government was invalid showed the misunderstanding of contract law. A contract exist when two people/entities agree orally or in writing to exchange goods, services and intellectual property for a fee or corresponding service of value. In the case of Woyome V Ghana government the Parliamentary approval rule only comes into play to shield the government from liability and or monetary damages because of lack of the pre-approval section but does not invalidate a contract because conditions of a contract have been met between Youth and Sports and Woyome through the open bid process even if conditional.
It is therefore important that people do not acquiesce to the Martin Amidu train because of the narrow but meaningless victory he won at the Supreme Court on all matters legal in Ghana; the Sole Commissioner should take note.
