  It is rather unfortunate Mr Koney should accuse te palimentary select commitee chairman for leading a crusade against Newmont. In the first place when thus a process to acquire a licence starts and ends, so that the miner can start operation? Why were they in a hurry when they know the process hasn't ended to commence operation? Lets think of Ghana, the enviroment and pretend to hide behind regulations which is fraught with personal gains.Anyway a layman's impression at the open mine site in Akyem suggests a ruthless galamsey operator with no mercy for the enviroment, yet people are there to defend them.
