“In the last six years, the NDC has borrowed US$27 billion. Before that, we, the NPP, borrowed a total of US$5.5 billion in eight years. Compare that to the NDC borrowing $27 billion in six years and ask yourself what they have done with all that money,” the running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo said.

He said, though a lot more money has been spent, it is a paradox of economic management that this level of excessive spending has only led to greater hardships being visited on the people.

“NDC inherited a public debt stock of GHS9.5 billion in 2009,” the former Deputy Governor of the central bank said. “Today, Ghana’s debt has gone up to GHS65.7 billion. So when I say the stakes are high I am talking about the destiny of our country, Ghana, the future of the youth.”

“The NDC has been taxing everything, including condoms and cutlasses. In terms of resources, this NDC government has had more resources than any other government. We did not have oil. Yet, Ghanaians know what we did with the limited resources we had. We spent money responsibly to create the NHIS, introduce Capitation Grant, expand access to education, we spent wisely on infrastructure and built more roads than any other government,” he said.

Mahama has surely got his priorities wrong! And that's exactly what visionless African leaders have always been accused of. Does the NDC government think they can borrow recklessly and foolishly spend their way into another mandate after 2016, when the nation is over burdened with HIPC and its workers wallow in hunger, starvation and over taxation in the rich oil producing country?

Governance under NDC is all about deceit and 'opium of the people'. They enjoy everything under the sun and ask us to wait for our basic needs in heaven. They didn't even respect the intelligence of Ghanaians when they ask them to wait for the paradise in three years after their mandate. The truth is that, everything they promise is a mirage and we will never find comfort with them because; they are real conmen with con plans.

There are just too many selfish and insensitive people representing us in parliament. THEY DON'T DESERVE WHAT THEY GET.
I am looking forward to the day when voters will use their head in selecting good people to represent them in parliament, not just 'anybody taking cover under a popular party'. Many 'rubbish' have landed in parliament because of bad choice by voters. The legislature which should have been as powerful as the executive arm of government is therefore very useless. Many frankly are not materials for parliament. A rubber stamp parliament is as useless as anything you can think of. When you have people who don't have a mind of their own, there is nothing called conscience in their head that prompt them about their action. The masses will suffer until they learn to put right thinking representatives in parliament. A zombie parliamentarian only serves the interest of his group, not the nation, and that is the choice Ghanaians have made. IF THEIR TAKE HOME PAY IS JUST LIKE ANY OTHER CIVIL SERVANT'S, Ghana will get better quickly. Today, somebody is manufacturing cars in Ghana, yet parliament see nothing wrong in importing common furniture from China and completely closing their eyes to what this good citizen is doing. If you encourage the importation of common furniture (producers seen everywhere in Ghana) would you order made in Ghana cars? We need SMART, HONEST AND SELFLESS PEOPLE in parliament

Where were these guys when a whole Ghanaian legislator (MP) put the whole country to shame! As if not bad enough he was given a hero's welcome after servicing his sentence here in the US.

What has a prez got to do when a citizen is charged with drugs? If I do recall, these "loud mouth" groups were not at Kuffor's throat to resign when an MP in his party was busted. Please let's get serious and stop this name calling and tackle this canker with all the contempt it deserves.

This is NOT an NDC/NPP issue, it is a Ghanaian issue, so these jokers in parliament had better stop the tomfoolery and get to serious business of enacting laws that would really deal with future cases.
