WHILE THE ACC GENERAL PAYS WORKERS OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH WORKERS, OWNERS OF PRIVATE HEALTH FACILITIES CAN'T AND ARE FOLDING UP. SERIOUSLY, ALL PRIVATE HEALTH SERVICE PROVIDERS MUST MEET TO ANNOUNCE THE OBITUARY OF THE NHIS AND START 'CASH AND CARRY' IF THEY DON'T WANT THIS PROPAGANDA-INFESTED NDC GOVT TO COLLAPSE THEIR BUSINESSES. AFTER ALL THE KNUST HOSPITAL AND PRESTEA GOVT HOSPITAL HAVE STARTED 'CASH AND CARRY.' Frankly, I don't see anything wrong with the President's decision to dissolve the NACOB Board. He appointed them, and finds out that they are not doing their work properly as he expected and he fired them. In fact, I blame him for not going far enough to fire the CEO as well. He shouldn't even stop there, he should go on to demand the prosecution and dismissal of all the officers at the VIP or presidential lounge, the airport security officers and the foreign affairs officers that facilitated export of the drugs.

On the other hand, I don't agree with Mr. Mahama for sending BNI to intimidate and harass journalists who reported on the Nayele Ametefeh cocaine scandal. The government should have sued them in an open court for defamation as any aggrieved person or entity would have done in a democratic system if it feels false information has been published against it. This is because we don't want the NDC to return to its dictatorial and intimidation tactics of the P/NDC era and gag press freedom again.

I disagree with the honable Doctor's comments. What happened was a serious incident and highly embarrassing. Yes NACOB cannot stop every drug trafficker, it is unrealistic but when something as big as this is missed by NACO ...

I disagree with the honable Doctor's comments. What happened was a serious incident and highly embarrassing. Yes NACOB cannot stop every drug trafficker, it is unrealistic but when something as big as this is missed by NACOB then the buck stops with the Board. If they cannot see this then they were not fit for the job in the first place. The US and UK authorities have pumped resources and money for us to help with the fight against narcotics, all NACOB needed to do was to open their eyes and importantly not collude with criminals. The government was right, narcotics proceeds fund terrorism. May be because Ghana does not have an overt issue with terrorism them we are complacent but for others regionally and around the world terrorism is a serious issue.
