The residents of Accra and Kumasi are often submitted to unwarranted politico-cuktural interferences from both sides of the divide puprting to want the best for the inhabitants.The two cities share lots of issue like poor sanitation, disfunctional transportation systems, soaring crimerates, and of course been at the mercy of the meddling from the traditional authorities. past governments have struggled to select cable and commited managers fro the city councils and political heads fro the political administrations.
Granted, consultations with the traditional bodies are required to satidfy both sides, the interest of th inhabitants must be held paramount at all times.
Why drop stooges and book lickers into wrong positions if they are clearly incapable?
Appointees exhibit gross ignorance and insensitivity when they fail to take on the ever increasing sanitaion and transportation problems.
No one expects the govt to magically provide and solve all issues but the prerogative to manage these issues are the responsibilities of the government.
Ghanaians deserve better and the government should show more political sensitivity and acumen by selecting city managers carefully.
The mention of the worg'Loan' sends shivers down my spine. Loans dont solve problems.
