If the VVIP staff processed Ms Ametefeh and two other women then, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should have at least the names of the two other women. Have they passed on those details to the British authorities?

There are more questions than answers on this case. We are watching with interest.

Was he deported or extradited from Nigeria? Otherwise, his return and arrest do no make sense. Perhaps, he was out of the country and was unaware of being declared a wanted person in connection with the arrest of Ms Nayele Ametefeh for exporting 12 kilos of cocaine to the UK or he had nothing to do with it. If the claims of BNI are accurate, then either Alhaji Dawood is a damn fool to return to Ghana or he has decided to come back and face the music squarely. Whatever or whichever is the case, I am yet to be persuaded who this Alhaji Dawood is, his role in this Nayelegate and who was arrested by BNI at KIA on Sunday.

It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

How I wish someone in authority would follow these discussions on Ghanaweb. Corney and Sarpong have all been very objective.

It is all about Ghana, not about parties or individuals, which are all very, very small compared with Ghana.

I also find this BNI arrest story very strange. As you said, the guy must be a complete idiot to have come back on his own accord. There is no indication that the Ghana security outfit put out his details for his arrest. So if this guy had actually managed to run away to Nigeria, (and how did he do that so quickly, almost immediately after Nayele was arrested?), why would he rush to return to Ghana on his own accord? The government and its agencies are not being straight with the rest of us.

If the rumour mill in London about British security having seized three mobile phones and four SIM cards from the lady is true, then not only those directly involved but the reputation of Oman Ghana is going to be damaged for a very long time to come!

If somebody is a fancier of a political party some may know what he does but before he gives money to the party he is not going to tell them he is selling drugs.
Now let us all agree that he is NPP financier but he is fully engage in drug trafficking during NDC regime using the facility reserved for the president and top officials so how come we cannot arrest him knowing that he was using the money to finance our opponents.

A criminal is a criminal and it is time we started treating them as such otherwise they will continue to out smart us as has been the case now,if the politicians are there fighting among themselves that the criminal belongs to this or that party the criminals will take advantage to use some corrupt officials of those incharge as has just happened.

The major question is how was she able to go through the VVIP lounge at the Kotoka international airport? these popular cocaine dealer among others are the same who contribute immensely to both NDC/NPP during election campaign.

Yes, from NDCI through NPP 2000 to NDCII, the sources of funds of the major financiers of these parties have all been questionable. The Electoral Commission is also part of this fraud.There is a proviso for all parties to present their audited accounts three months after every election. The commission has never bothered to enforce that provision of the Constitution of Ghana because they also steal half of the monies that donors donate for national elections!

The whole of Ghanaian society stinks to the high heavens and we all need to get involved to ensure that a decent person is elected to clean the stables!

Do they have to arrest everybody that is suspected to have slept with her,is it a crime to have a girlfriend in Ghana,will they arrest a guy they call Samini too because he also allegedly slept with her?

So this guy after all is not a smart guy or he thinks because of he knows peope in top positions he can just come to the airport and sneak into the country without anybody arresting him?
I think he went to the cocaine hub to arrange for more or may have even brought more which may have pass through VVIP to the country already.
Anyway,was he arrested at the VVIP or at the regular entry point since he is the patron of that VVIP?

That said, I think government as a matter of urgency should freeze the assets of all the people arrested so far.
If they can confiscate the BMW of a cleaner at the airport who claimed the drug he was carrying belonged to Ruby why up until today most of the people who were jailed with some already served their time still have their assets intact?
If we want to fight this drug menace we need to do it with seriousness without fear or favor.
