The mere fact that Bagabaga College of Education was established in 1944, and was one of the oldest educational institutions in northern Ghana, disproves the myth being peddled around that Nkrumah introduced Education into the North. In fact, Western Education had been introduced into the North long before Kwame Nkrumah became prime-minister of the Gold Coast.

Northern leaders like S.D Dombo, Jato Keleo, B.K Adama, Tolon Naa, Bawumia and many others might have even completed their education and started their careers, long before Nkrumah was brought to the Cold Coast from the UK to serve as a General Secretary of the group that was fighting for our independence.

It was, therefore, disappointing to see Mr. Mahama plying dirty politics by honouring Nkrumah where he shouldn't have been honoured at all because; Kwame Nkrumah didn't have anything to do with the establishment of BAC. By his action, Mr. Mahama is deliberately perpetuating the myth that Nkrumah civilized Northers by introducing Education to them.

Even the much talked about free education that Mr. Mahama himself enjoyed was initiated and put forward for adoption by S.D Dombo, as a bargain or political horse trading to accept Nkrumah's unitary state proposal, and not any humanitarian initiative by him to enlighten Northern Ghanaians.

NDC was not formed on tribal lines and Northerners have been holding many key positions in the party since its formation so even if all the leaders are Northerners Ewes should not have problem with that.
We are in a democracy if they are democratically elected we need to accept that in good faith.
That said I think the lady has more work to do because she seems to have been overshadowed by Anita making her not known to many including some of us in the party.

Corney, I understand your point but I beg to differ. We should take Agbeve's concerns seriously. In politics, you can't trust people on a freewheeling basis. Remember how Nkrumah betrayed the UP people who brought him from England to help strengthen their struggle against the colonial powers for independence? Politics is about power and people would go every length to gain the power.

Isn't it true that Mahama has relatively sidelined Ewes in his appointments and surrounded himself predominantly with Northerners? Even some of our own Volta chiefs have been complaining bitterly about this. Professor Mills was far more friendly towards Ewes because he knew the importance of Ewes in NDC affairs and victory. Northerners do not vote 100% NDC. They vote almost 50% NDC and 50% NPP. They are not absolutely loyal to NDC. But our region (Volta) is the world bank of NDC votes, as declared by former President Rawlings. So we cannot allow the Northerners to hijack the NDC.

OUR great leader the venerable JJ admonished us not long ago to choose new leaders because some of the current leaders have compromised themselves. We responded to the expectations of our great leader. How does that concern NPP?. We are not like NPP which has no clear leader. We adore our great leader the venerable JJ the Baptist.

Ewers would rather be proud that the sacrifice they made in the early stage of education in the North is paying off. When education was introduced in the north, it was only trained EWE teachers who were ready to relocate to the north to teach. We the northerners can now boost of PhD and other professional. Thanks to the ewe teachers who left their comfort towns and came to then deprived place to teach us how to read and write. Northerners and ewes have been brothers for long. If Northerners takes up positions in NDC today, it only meant one thing. The sacrifice our ewes brothers made to educate us is now bearing fruits. We are only helping our brothers to advance the cause of our great party the NDC. NDC party for brothers that explained why we used not to elect our leaders initially.
