Am not sure this lady was the first to occupy the room in question. Others may have occupied the room n left. She was given a notice and she shd have done was to look for a new place. This paranoia that ppl with terminal sickness have can be managed thru counseling n not media terrorism.

I sympathize with her, but she has to look for a new place.

Is it lawful for a landlord to charge for a two year rent advance? What does Rent Laws say about this? Just as the lady said, "how can I come by that kind of money?". Clearly if this woman is working in any establishment then she has to resort to any means to get "that kind of money". Indeed the seed of the corruption that is sown is from this kind of practices whereby any landlord charges for so many years of rent advance. If anything at all a landlord, lawfully, should charge a month or two rent deposit. This deposit is used to defray any cost towards damages by the tenant at end of tenancy. But if there is no cost incurred, the full amount of deposit is returned to the tenant. This rent advance episode is greediness and should be killed. It is high time we become reasonable people, by acting lawfully and see if corruption will not be reduced, if possible eliminated completely.

My advise to her is, sister do not kill yourself. Have hope and believe that it shall be well as far as the sun is far from the earth for God never fails!!!
